So, this isn't really something I've seen done before, so, I'm going to try and do this.

The point of these threads that I'm going to make is to be creative and explore an area of list building that is not common, and (likely) also not meta, and to just have fun coming up with wacky combos and maybe find something worth flying.

So, the way this is going to work is kind of like the showcase threads, over in the painting subforums.

I'm going to, on some semblance of a regular basis, create a thread for a different ship, pilot, card, idea for a list, and you, the collective community, can brainstorm and we can hopefully find some new ideas.

EDIT: And before everyone asks, I didn't start with the X wing because every one already is trying and talking about it anyway.

So, to start off, I've been playing around on squadron benchmark with a fun stress B Wing, using Ibtisam with B E2, wired, Hera, fcs, and ion or heavy cannon. Super fun to just completely ignore stress, k turn all the time, and still get mods from Ibtisam and wired.

2 rerolls isn't actually to bad.

Like to pair it with psycho Tycho.

One of the nastier combinations I've seen is B-Wing/E2, Ion Cannon, and Tactician - ion tokens and stress are both nice, but the combination of the two elevates them to utterly brutal, and the fact that you can build a B-wing which can deliver both without stressing itself, using actions, or using any discardable or unique upgrade cards is nightmare for squads that don't like control.

Ten Numb with VI, Ion cannon, E1 and Bistan, a guaranteed hit and ion every turn at PS 10, for relatively few points for a B-wing.

Keyan with HLC, Opportunist and FCS is also massively good, but pretty hard to trigger.

Keyan Farlander is my favorite B-wing. The flavor of the day:

•Keyan Farlander (34) - B-Wing
Crack Shot (1), Collision Detector (0), B-Wing/E2 (1), •Maul (3)

Farlander with Maul can reroll 2 dice and clear two stress on one attack. No need to Focus or TL, his action is free to Barrel Roll.

To get Maul, I’m currently running this Ezra:

I've used a similar Ibitsam build a few times but with a few differences, mainly due to points restrictions with the other ships I've chosen. The full list is:

Arvel Crynyd - Chardaan Refit, Hull Upgrade, A-Wing Test Pilot, Intimidation

Ibtisam – Wired, Collision Detector, Tractor Beam, B-Wing/E2, Hera Syndulla

I didn't think FCS was necessary on Ibitsam considering he will be re-rolling one blank and all focus results on attack and defence anyway. I went for Collision Detector instead so he could intentionally run over debris to build up his stress store without taking damage. I took the Tractor Beam because I just had one point left, but would prefer Ion cannon or Linked Battery. Ten Numb is the opposite in that he tries to avoid stress, plus I really liked the idea of putting Numb and Nunb together.

After using that list, I recently came us with a different list using Ten Numb:

Ten Numb - Veteran Instincts, Advanced Sensors, Mangler Cannon, B-Wing/E2, C-3PO

Han Solo (original) - Push the Limit, Kanan Jarrus, Kyle Katarn, Millennium Falcon (evade version)

Only tried it out in Squadron Benchmark so far but I think it has potential and I'm considering it for one of our local friendly tournaments.

Keyan Farlander is probably my favourite pilot and I have a couple of lists with him in using very different builds:

Gemmer Sojan - Chardaan Refit, Stealth Device, A-Wing Test Pilot, Elusiveness

Jake Farrell – Predator, Calculation, Proton Rockets, Guidance Chips, A-Wing Test Pilot

The first Keyan I came up with myself whilst the second I got off this forum. I really like the first one for the amount of crits he can put through, but I'm not sure about his 2 wingmates. Jake has been decent but even with 5 defence dice at range 1 or 3 Gemmer always seems to go down too easily. The second list is probably stronger overall, relying on a mix of durability and manouvreability to keep the ships alive longer.

Finally, I came up with this idea for Nera but due to cost and difficulty getting her close enough to pull off her trick I haven't found a list to put her in yet:

Nera Dantels – Deadeye, B-Wing/E2, Recon Specialist, Fire Control System, Advanced Proton Torpedoes, Extra Munitions (41pts)

Maybe Proton Torpedoes and staying at range would be better, in which case I could swap B-Wing/E2 and Recon Specialist for Guidance Chips and reduce the cost to a more includable 35pts.

Blount and Numb are a little Gimmicky Combo, but Farlander I would argue is the best Farlander out there. Use the rage to get the focus, Jan it into an evade, rage gives you free-rerolls, and use your ability to change your focus' into attacks. not to mention you can still but a cannon or torps of choice on there if you like it. For 36 points its certainly nice, and the Jan helps him stick around a little longer. the ability to pull double stress off of him is great this way, and it doesn't force Ezra like some of the Maul builds do.

I've been trying for so long to figure out how to use Nera. I really like the idea of this build:

The first one is too many points for my taste. I see you’re trying to push crits, but if that’s your goal then just fly Ten Numb. I’d rather spend points making blanks into paint, especially when Farlander already has reliable focus modification.

I like the second one. Stay on Target is the only stress-producing EPT I haven’t tried on Farlander.

The Stresszra sounds good as it's another way to control your opponent and set them up for more torpedo shots from Nera. Another option would be a Gold Squadron Y-Wing with Ion Cannon Turret and R3-A2 for stress and/or ion (or both if you are lucky). If you want to go the harpoons route, then you could try something similar to @SkyCooper and have Airen Cracken with Veteran Instincts, Harpoons and Guidance Chips. He can shoot the harpoons before Ten Numb, allowing Ten's uncancellable crit to set the harpoon condition off.

@jmswood Yes the first build is definitely not cheap and Ten Numb with Mangler would be better in a lot of situations for pushing crits through. Keyan's main advantage would be the ability to use the torpedoes for a one-off chance of pushing through multiple crits, and with Ezra he can still do a reliable 4-dice with crit attack at range 1. He also combines with Jake for a one-two punch against heavy targets (Jake uses the proton rockets to knock off the shields and Keyan follows up with multiple crits). It's nice if you can get it to work but probably not tournament-worthy.

Came here to post almost exactly this. I haven't tried it yet personally but I was running 2 Blue Squadrons, 2 Rookies, and a Bandit back before the Bomb/Harpoon meta and that was fairly strong so I've been meaning to try the list you posted.

I've been wanting to try out more 4 or 5 ship lists and I think cheap B-Wings are good options for Rebel lists of that type. I was at a small tournament last year (just before Nym came out), 16-18 players and 4 rounds and the player that came 4th was using 4 Blue Squadron Pilots with Fire Control Systems and Tractor Beams. I think even in a small event it was pretty impressive to get that list to 4th over 4 rounds, as he must have won 3 of his games to get there.

A friend of mine has had some good success running a pair of Blue Squadron Pilots with Fire Control System, Flechette Torpedoes and Guidance Chips in his list. They were originally partnered with Biggs and a Green Squadron Pilot, which he had good results with, but since the Biggs nerf he's switched to Stressbug Ezra and Braylen Stramm. We played out a very close game the other week and the list looks like it has potential.

I saw an Ibtisam the other day with Stay On Target, Hera, and Linked Batteries, which was pretty cool to my mind.

For Keyan, I'm tempted by a nearly naked build with just Rage. Maybe add Hera, but I think Rage alone is probably fine.

I love the concept of Linked Batteries and Advanced Sensors on anyone else, just as a fairly potent base package, but that's probably several (seven?) waves outdated.

I’ve done it with Rage and Inspiring Recruit. Clearing both stress on the attack is handy.

I am all about Ezra/Maul at the moment so I am planning on trying this:
Farlander with VI, HLC and Maul (41)

Ibtisam with Elusiveness, Linked Battery and Ezra (36)

Gold Squad Y-Wing with Ion turret (23)

I also like to use Nera with Advanced Proton torps but have had mixed success. In one game I one-shot Whisper out of arc with them, but in another I wished that I had regular Protons instead as I couldn't get a target in range 1. I think next time I will lean towards regular proton torp and extra munitions.

Ibtisam with Lightning Reflexes, Advanced Sensors, and Linked Battery is nice but a little pricey at 34 points.

FCS, Ion Cannon, and E2/Tactician is a scary 8 points to tack onto anybody as well.

It's definitely too point-inefficient in the current era of X-Wing, but a Dagger with FCS, Proton Torps, Ion Cannon, and Guidance chips for 33 points is both thematic and dangerous if left alone.

I've had fun including 2 Advanced Sensor + Linked Cannon B-Wings in my rebel builds, they fit with an FAA ion Y-Wing and Snapshot Ezra.

Random train of stupid thoughts:

1. Linked Batteries are nice but essentially just move Fire Control System from a System to a Cannon.
2. This means that the advantage you gain is essentially "what are you now doing with your system slot?"
3. Advanced Sensors is nice (I don't dispute it's probably the best) because it lets you pretend to be BB-8 and/or lets you use the red bits of your dial (and a B-wing has a really good dial if you don't care about stress).
4. What I wouldn't mind trying is Sensor Jammer, just because I and my friends have loads (there's one in the Silencer expansion and one in the U-wing expansion which the tournament types at our club all bought for Expertise cards).
5. Sensor Jammer is really, really good if you have no means of turning a focus into a hit . (there is a reason Omega Leader is not allowed to equip one!)
6. A B-wing is relatively unusual in that it's one of the only rebel ships which can both equip a sensor jammer and a reliable means to apply stress.
7. Since it can also deliver ion tokens as well, you can make the stress worse/more prolonged if you're prepared to give up a linked battery reroll.

I don't claim this is an amazing squad but it could definitely be painful for the expertise crowd, the low agility small base crowd, and so on:

• Blue Squadron Pilot x 3
  • Sensor Jammer
  • Ion Cannon
  • B-Wing/E2
  • Tactician

Agreed. Basically, anything that stops people having a focus token or expertise to use. I remember having quite good fun pairing a sensor jammer shuttle with Palpatine and Carnor Jax to much the same effect.

I love this Ibitsam build

Probably super overkill, but the amount of damage and stuff for only one stress is great.

Ibitsam w/ Opportunist, Sensor Jammer, Linked Battery, E/2, and Ezra.

Opportunist doesen't allow you to trigger for defense (except on people lower than you) but with Sensor you lower your chances of being hit, and hopefully make then spend their focus. This leaves you open to respond with Opportunist, So you roll 4 dice (plus range if applicable) with two re-rolls, and a focus to a Crit. I also don't really know what else to put in the sensor when you have the points. FCS is redundant, I don't have PTL, and Adv-Sensors could be useful.

Not too bad IMO (and this means that if you want to be a complete Jerk you can take Keyan with Maul as well)

I should make a build with that. Any consensus on the most popular loadout for Keyan + Maul on here?
