Additional Focus

By Ken at Sunrise, in X-Wing

Is there any way for an Imperial to have more than one Focus? I can't seem to find anything.

Thanks,

What do you mean?

  • There's intensity. If you have a way to boost/roll and take a focus action, then you'll have 2
  • There's cool hand, allows you to assign a focus
  • There's recon specialist, allows you to get 2 focus
  • there are fleet officer and Hux, allows you to assign focus (and the targets can take the focus action)
  • Soontir Fel gets an additional focus when stressed
  • Whisper gets a focus assigned after hitting with an attack
  • Agent Kallus is functionally similar to an extra focus

I'm not sure if there are more

Edit: I did forget operation specialist! Requires you to miss though, so it depends a bit on why you want two focus tokens

Nope can’t find any. Lol

I was looking to see a way to get two, or more, focus on an imperial ship. Intensity, like you said, takes two actions, etc....

Thanks,

Recon Specialist

I mean everything he said were ways to get focus tokens for Imperials.

Soontir Fel with Push the Limit will have two focus icons if you use just one of the actions to focus. Vader gets two actions so he can have two focus icons. Fleet Officer and General Hux assign focus tokens. Recon Specialist makes your Focus action give you two focus tokens.

Sorry, Vader can't take two focus actions in a turn.

Ah you're right my bad.

No problem. And thinking about it more, with intensity he could get two.

I like to have a team of guys with Snap Shot near someone with OpSpec because the Snaps will likely miss, and you hand out Focus like crazy when it does. Not competitive but it's demoralizing for the opponent.

Omicron with 2 rec specs

3 bombers with tie shuttle and 2 opsSpecs.

9 focus on shuttle.

You'd have to do it with an extra support ship passing out focus tokens.

General Hux on a Deci/Lambda/Upsi.

Fleet Officer on any of those + TIE Bomber with shuttle title, or maybe a Phantom...

That's really it, unless you are running a crew ship + Recon Spec or Soontir or Whisper.

Excuse you, but famous TIE Fighter pilot "Chaser" would like to have a word with you :P

Night Beast can also stack focus tokens, because he is assigned one when he completes a green move rather than taking his action to get it.

Night beast gets a free focus action, which would stop him taking it as the regular action.

It there are an Opspec and a fleet officer on each tie shuttle, and we are counting focus after all the Ties shoot - assuming they all missed it's more like 15 focus.

(3 from focus action on Omiron, 3 for the fleet Os, then 3 per missed shot from the tie shuttles)

Opspec is limited.

Advanced sensor striden + Fleet Office + Systems officer is fun. You Advance Sensor Fleet officer, take a stress and pass out 2 focus tokens up to range three. Then reveal a green maneuver and hand out a free target lock at range 3.

Run him with a standard Omega Leader build and Inquisitor with PTL, Title, AT, and Cruise missile. When it gets real funny is when you advance sensor & coordinate with Quiz, he can then barrel roll out of the way, Striden reveals a green maneuver and gives the TL to Quiz, Quiz then PTL's off of that for a focus & Evade from the TL and he takes a stress. Then Quiz reveals a green to clear his stress, moves and boosts for his free action. Five actions and still not stressed. Janky to the max but funny when it works.

...my brain juzt mlted

It's basically the same mechanic as "Super Norra" or "PTL BB-8 Poe" where you are doing actions before the maneuver part of the activation phase, clearing your stress with a green and then doing your normal action at the end of your activation phase. The triggers are just different since another ship is providing the ability to perform the actions.
