Extra Die when activating a character clarification

By Vineheart01, in Star Wars: Destiny

To my knowledge its just Krennic and 7th Sister that has this where they roll a die thats not technically theirs when they activate (as per Feint interaction, since its not removed with the rest of the dice)

Question comes in to wtf are they considered?

Quote from faq:

Q: Is a character die any die that the character has?

A: No. A character die is a die that corresponds to the

character card. An upgrade is never a character die and is

always called out by card text as an upgrade die.

Krennic's DT die doesnt correspond to a character (otherwise Feint would remove it)
Sister's ID9 die isnt called out by card text as an upgrade die.

So are these basically just floating "nonclassified" dice or am i missing something that says theyre still character/upgrade dice anyway? Thus making them immune to any die-modding effects that call out a die type?

I think so.

Page 20: A character die is a die that matches a character.

A Death Trooper die matches a character based on its related card regardless of how it enters the pool. It's still a character die.

Even a naked die still has a corresponding card that says what that die is. Example would be Ace in the Hole and Crime Lord. What that special is is referred to on the card the die corresponds to. The die just doesn't have a partner card in play but still retains its properties given by the card. So Death Trooper is a character die (not Krennic's Dice, he has his own dice, and therefore not removed by Feint) and ID9 is an upgrade die.

Also, Feint doesn't remove either Krennix or the Sister's extra die because they are not even in the pool yet to be removed since they are after abilities. The steps look like this:

Play Feint

Activate Character, roll in character and upgrade die (DON'T DO ANY AFTER ABILITIES YET).

Decide to remove all character and upgrade die that you just rolled in (since those are the die that the "its" refers too) and ready the character.

Feint is now finished and you can move onto After abilities triggered by activating the character.

Roll in Death trooper or Droid die now.
