Have you been swayed....

I am in a position where I wont often get to play the game..I dont have friends that are into this stuff to the level I am, so I will collect both forces and then make balanced forces to have a game now and then with whoever.

Theres a local club but I simply dont have time to attend as I play football and do other stuff too.

If I was in a position with loads of friends who were into it...I wouldnt have a clue who id choose, Rebels I think.

So you choose football over plastic crack?

Pathetic

Oh thank god! I thought this was yet another complaint thread. To answer the question though empire all the way. I just can't think of a rebel list that I find enticing.

If you're new to painting, it'll look quite passable. You could do a white primer, color in some black, then do a light wash followed by some white paint to bring it back up and it won't look bad by any means. This is what Sorastro does in his IA video and it looks quite nice.

But if you're wanting it to look really good, you'll want to start with a light grey. The problem with starting with white is that you have no where to go but down. This means you can't highlight anything.

It’ll be a while before I can buy in, so I’ll watch up some videos.

passable I can deal with, especially for grunt troops. I’ve only painted ~7-8 low detail minis from a board game before. They turned out ok but not what I’d love to see.

i figure I can improve my technique over time. Based on the poll of my friends who would consider buying in (two of which have preordered stuff), it’s looking like empire for me will create the least mirror match ups.

Not sure if its been mentioned but go to youtube and check Sorastros Imperial Assault vids....and also now a few Sorastro Legion vids. Amazing for guiding you through painting while also learning some great techniques.

Definitely still going Imperials, despite more boring Corp units and what I perceive to be the weaker faction. Darth Vader and the AT-ST are the coolest miniatures, in my opinion, and more than make up for the lack of uniqueness in Stormtroopers. Moreover, I think longer term, I'll like Empire additions more than Rebels (Inquisitors, Death Troopers, Shoretroopers, TX225-GAVx, etc.)
