Anyways, these two expansions releasing quarter 2, isnt it about time FFG gave us a release date? Do they not know themselves perhaps, issues with deliver?

Spanish site has an intended date of MARCH.

The boat and customs seems to vary it by weeks. so why give us something they were unsure of or possibly couldn't keep. It's not like the do hard dates for anything else they ship.

I thought that was pretty much what I was suggesting.

double posting <_<

That pose is 1980s bad... what's wrong with the box art pose or even the bland "come with me" pose that you usually see on less inspired command figures?

Look pretty good to me. If theres ways to outflank or deploy behind enemy lines these guys will be great.

Liking the grenade launcher for some extra utilty

I think its important to note:

Its Leia Organa. I wonder if we will get a Leia Solo, Or Leia Skywalker eventually.

Based on the way that unique cards work in FFG's other games, I think any other versions they make will still be "Leia Organa" just with different descriptive text under her name. It's kind of hard for me to read, but it looks like Leia's card says "Fearless and Inventive". We could definitely see "Leia Organa, Princess of Alderaan" or "Leia Organa, Leader of the Resistance" or something like that down the road. Personally I like the ring of "Leia Organa, Part of the Rebel Alliance and a Traitor" :P

Isn't that just how one is supposed to shoot a blaster pistol? :P

Maybe but I don't think Han is actually running straight forward in that shot. It's like they combined two incompatible poses into one.

I actually think the helmet sculpt on the IA rebel fleet trooper is more screen accurate shape-wise than these. Seeing as how these are larger they should be more accurate...the IA model even has the antennae on it...hmm.

I thought he was running and then stopped quickly when that pose was used in the film. I could be mis-remembering though. I think the leg that was forward was his right leg though.

I am trying to work out whether it is just the paint job, but those figure sculpts seem to have gone downhill.

I was thinking exactly the same... Is a downgrade from the previous miniatures... This is troubling me, up till now the mini's were more than decent, and now this.

EDIT: I was thinking maybe they had to rush the article due to the leak and maybe they had to use 3d printed proxies. I'm badly trying the find a reason for how NOT cool are this minis compared to the rest.

Give them those scopes that improve their aim. They do get a free aim if they stand by. (I'm not sure how good "Stand By" is going to be, but this could be really powerful.)

Well considering the objectives require you to be in range 1 or touching the objective to get points I'd say these guys are perfect obj campers. Use their two speed to get to the objectives fast, then, once your there dodge and ready. That way when an enemy tries to get to take the objective you can blast 'em.

Edit: by ready I of course mean standby to trigger the ready 1 keyword.

I think it is just the paint job, hopefully I am right.

A lot of people were referring to this game as "40K with Star Wars", but the more we see leader abilities and such (Leia inspiring suppression tokens away for example), the more it reminds me of Wrath of Kings. Thoughts from anyone familiar with WoK?

Leia looks pretty strong. I am a little surprised that she has more close combat dice than Veers. It is not like we see Leia fighting hand-to-hand very often (though I guess she did strangle Jabba).

Not sure if anyone has pointed this out, but the fleet troopers have both kinds of surges. I don't know many units have that. Other than Leia and Speeder Bikes.

Im going to end up with about 20 different 'armies' in this game.

Already started on putting my 3rd board together!!

This ...

Throw in my OCD and ... will have to have Fleet minis that match my Rebels and or vice versa .... with Fleet minis in the traditional blue/grey get-up

And, meantime due to the game's delay, I will 100% end up buying a pack of IA Fleet and another Rebel Alliance Ranger set to practice painting/work out paint schemes

Need this to arrive sooner than later

This is not a bad idea.

The more I look at these articles the more I think they were rushed. The picture quality and paint job on the minis seem sub par compared to previous articles.

I did a page ago but I think it's invisible to everyone but me ;)

Buying a small war band of IA minis, which I have no use for except practice, or amassing 60-100 Rebel minis in 2-3 diff color schemes? Each? I do not even play IA and already have a tiny collection of practice models.

You gotta have some Fleet troops geared out in traditional garb and, well, might as well add a squad ... or 3 ... of Rebel soldiers in something similar.

Then ... by all means .... I am going to need Fleet troopers matching my Rebel color scheme.

New to all this and can see, as Ron Burgundy says, things escalate quickly.

What do the surges do again? I mean how are they limited?

All dice have 1 surge facing. A conversion changes them after roll. It's a power lever ( for instance, it effectively gives leia and atrt's 2 crit facings per die)
