Was Rhymer nerfed too hard, and what would you do differently?

My 9 Nebulon Bs laugh at your sad attempt to build a fleet ?.

Sad part is I don’t even really run Rebels, and when I was running them, it was Home One and Assault Frigates.

.......... hahahahahahaha. How the heck did you end up with 9 Neb-Bs??

1 from the starter, bought 3 I think for a card (XI7 when that was the only way to get it), then traded someone their Armada collection for some 40K I was happy to get rid of, that had 2 Core sets and 3 of the expansions in it.

They go well with my 8 Victory Star Destroyers (all complete with both antenna).

The amusing parts are when you see an Assault Frigate for 50% off and think "Oh, I can make a triple AF list with that!" just to get home and find out you already had 3... ?

I should make a list with nothing but Nebulon B (cheap version), maybe add some TRC to each...

Apparently you can fit 6 TRC Neb B and 2 A-Wings in a list with Mon Mothma...

Back to the original topic, yes I think Rhymer was hit too hard with the nerf bat, when combined with the Rebel forces not receiving a similar degradation in some way. Take for example the topic just posted of Luke / Yavaris / Relay combo killing ships. Maybe slowing down the relay effects would help even it out some (like not allowing ship or card effects to process though relay? Just tossing a general not-thought-out suggestion out there).

Fleet 3910 (399/400)
===================
Nebulon-B Support Refit (51 + 20)
+ General Dodonna (20)
Nebulon-B Support Refit (51)
Nebulon-B Support Refit (51)
Nebulon-B Support Refit (51)
Nebulon-B Support Refit (51)
Nebulon-B Support Refit (51)
Nebulon-B Support Refit (51)
2 x A-wing Squadron (2 x 11)

Although I applaude the balls of a 7 Neb list... I do think 5 with an IF! Pelta might actually be more practical.

Less ballsy.

But more practical.

Hehehe its more a joke list than anything.

3 nebs with upgrades plus 2 peltas (StM! And IF!) And squadrons would be my take on it.

Have the peltas cover the nebs side arcs.

But i would like to try 7 Neb supports or 6 escorts against a unprepared fleet one day.

Just to try it.

I mean, as the King of Janky Joke lists... It'd be fun to try.

I mean,

Fleet 3920 (397/400)
===================
Nebulon-B Escort Frigate (57 + 30)
+ General Rieekan (30)
Nebulon-B Escort Frigate (57 + 5)
+ Quad Battery Turrets (5)
Nebulon-B Escort Frigate (57 + 5)
+ Quad Battery Turrets (5)
Nebulon-B Escort Frigate (57 + 5)
+ Quad Battery Turrets (5)
Nebulon-B Escort Frigate (57 + 5)
+ Quad Battery Turrets (5)
Nebulon-B Escort Frigate (57 + 5)
+ Quad Battery Turrets (5)

Who needs squads when you have a bunch of double blue AS ships? Hehe

So theoretically, what would work better in probabilities- 7 Neb B escorts with no upgrades, or 6 with TRC? I'm thinking the TRC, especially since I have the ability to roll so poorly, I can roll blanks on my blue dice.

Depends.

With nebs trc does give you definitive damage against anything without an evade. However your using your only evade to do so.

Nebs without upgrades are real swingy due to red dice. However fly them as a line and you have so many dice concentrated on a single target at a time (my suggestion) in so many little attacks its a death by a thousand cuts scenario where they can stop little amounts of damage going through at the expense of their defense tokens.

On the other side - with 7 ESCORT Neb-bs you cannot afford an admiral which makes your fleet illegal ;)

Curse you fleet point limits!!!

I always get the Nebs mixed up, since I've never used them.

My 6 QBT Neb escort list above with either rieekan or mothma would be my bet lol.

Dodonna could be used but siboptimal in my opinion.

Cracken or madine i wouldnt touch with this fleet. It wants to roll forward, not rush at speed 3 and by the time madine could be used i dont think there would be a point.

Sato: no squads. Useless.

Garm: honestly depends on preference, with 6 ships he wouldnt be bad.

Ackbar: no. Just no.

Leia: drop a QBT for her and she might be quite good. Personal preference again
