Thrawn dial plus ships dial?

By ForceSensitive, in Star Wars: Armada Rules Questions

I'm just going to ask in plain terms. If a ship has a token, it's own dial that it just revealed, and the free dial from thrawn, all of the same command type, what exactly can that ship do?

Can it burn two dials and a token all on navigate to change speed by three and add two clicks? Like my gut says no, but I can't think of anything that expressly says no. Does anybody know where to look?

FAQ:

Q: Can a ship resolve the effect of a command by spending multiple matching command dials or command tokens?

A: No. A ship may only resolve a command by spending one command dial, one command token, or one command dial and one matching command token.

Womp womp. That explains it, had an older version of the FAQ. Thanks.

Follow up, would you be able to reveal your own dial, convert it to a token, then spend it along with the thrawn dial? Also important, I'm assuming you can choose the order you resolve the commands in? Like, resolve your squad dial, then resolve engineering after seeing what's left threat wise?

That, yes.

Only the Ships Dial, not the Thrawn Dial, can be converted to a token - but it CAN be converted AND spent that turn...

Just realise that you have to choose whether to convert or not at reveal , and if you progress on to doing a command (such as squadron), then the opportunity to convert to a token has passed.

Squadron and Engineering both resolve at the same time, so you do decide on which of those to do first.
