I would love to see a Taetan Cruiser. Strong antisquad, about Hammerhead-level antiship. It would be cool.

Do you mean the tartan class patrol cruiser? That 250m ship everyone thinks is cr90/HH sized or level ship?

;)

Clarification

Depending on the site its listed between 250 and 600m long.

So even the smaller size is nearly double the size of a cr90 (have they decided on a official size for that yet? It seems every time i look they change it hahaha)

That's because in Empire at War they made it the counterpart to the CR-90. Oddly enough they also made both ships an anti-fighter roll. Maybe they were thinking of destroyers from Twilight Imperium.

Lol i havent played,but i struggle to see a counterpart to a cr90 here ;)

I mean to start their so different haha

I mean ones a 150m long fast attack vessel.

Ones a 250-600m long anti fighter ship.

Forgive my confusion here ^_^

They were more thinking of how to make sure the factions evenly mirror each other in terms of units. A common practice in terms of game design, just like how in Rebellion the Mon Calmari Star Cruiser is nearly identical to the Imperial Star Destroyer.

But yeah the CR-90 wasn't an anti-fighter ship also, that is just what the designers at Petroglyph thought would be compelling.

Ah i see, in that light i can see it :)

Though id much prefer the victory 2 frigate to be implemented as a (much b*******ed about for some insane reason) imperial neb-b equivelant.

Sidenote: the Neb-B is a small ship too.

Eer if your aiming that at me, im a rebel only, i know :)

Neb b: 300m long

Vic 2 frigate:500m long

Both r escorts, both seem to be destroyed easily.

Seems like a match made in heaven for me :)

I hold out hope if they got the AF into the game, anything from the old PC games is possible.

But Imperial Nebulon Frigates would be neat.

It was in the defense of the Tartan. According to Wookiepaedia it's only 250m long so it would be a perfect small ship.

The victory 2 frig was more something made as secondary targets for Space Combat in the Real Battlefront 2. Again as a counterpart to the CR-90 because there was nothing in canon at the time (although the naming is rather unsound, " Hey what is smaller than an Imperial Class Star destroyer? The Victory class, okay we got our small ship "). There is no mistake it is the best game of the Battlefront franchise but it did have some serious flaws, space combat was rather lacking. It really was the same 5 rooms for both ships and different exteriors. I wanted to go on the bridge and drive those things.

I think I prefer the first one. Some of those maps like Rhen Var, Bespin, and Yavin 4 were great! And I preferred it when the weapons weren't as needed up.

Again, with the very first one when we learned that you can kill the Jedi heroes in Galatic conquest I played many games just juggling Vader around with a Wookie Grenade launcher. Also I sort of liked when the last of the reinforcements go down and there is only 3 players or even the last one running around. It reminds me of mopping up a base after the CC falls in the first Planetside.

Even as secondary targets i loved the victory 2 frigates. Keeping the distinctive inperial look while not just being a angry pizza slice.

(It was an angry pizza slice with wings)

Love battlefront 2 (original), love running around with a rocket launcher and taking out major targets ^_^

Space combat for me was my favour part of the game, though it did have its flaws. I was hoping the new battlefronts would be more like updated versions of the originals, oh well
