Nym Brobot

By Browncoat50, in X-Wing

Has anyone tried combining Nym with IG88 D crew and an aggressor? Seems like it would be cool to have 2 ships ignoring eachothers bombs. Only real issue I see is you can't take system with nym if you run crew. So no TS or minefield mapper (if everyone can ignore friendly bombs this would actually see play).

I don't own an aggressor and trying to see if it's worth getting

The IG you pair along with another ship that is carrying IG-88D crew doesn’t get that ship’s pilot ability.

Oh really? I thought that was the point behind using the crew and then the aggressor with title. No wonder I haven't seen it

The ship with the IG-88D crew gets the ability of the IG its paired with, but the IG doesn’t get the ability of the other ship. It can lead to some interesting combos, but due to how the title & crew are worded, both ships don’t share back & forth, purely one-way.

The crew gives the abilities shared by the title, but it doesnt add to the "pool" of abilities said title is offering.

Which is part of its problem imo. IG88 abilities on their own are kinda crap, its the fact they stacked up that was silly. However, i am GLAD AS HECK that the crew doesnt confer the ability ... do you really, really want Dengar+IGB?

Dengar + B isn't too bad because Dengar doesn't have a Cannon slot.

Doesnt matter - its two large bases with a revenge shot.

IG88's still have a 3die attack, and Dengar's revenge is not specified to be a primary attack AND the revenge shot would trigger his ability as well (since it doesnt have the "cant attack again" clause, either ability for that matter)
You could make the arguement for a different IG88 for an ability Dengar gets too, but the point is it makes IGB nuts as his revenge shot would be a super revenge shot.

Oh yeah, it would make B very painful, but he's PS6 without a turret so

Wisely, IG-88D is a one way street. Only the Aggressor will have the IG-2000 title. A merest glimpse of mechanical perfection for inferior organic minds.
