Question on Sato and MC75

By CommanderBurnham, in Star Wars: Armada Fleet Builds

Sorry if this is in the wrong forum..

So I've noticed that a lot of people like taking shrimp with Sato, and the assault frigate is also praised as a good carrier. I was wondering if it would be possible to outfit the MC75 Armored similar to the shrimp at skirmish range while keeping it a carrier. Am I crazy for thinking this might be good? It looks okay on paper, but seems like it would create a huge activation deficit, but if you use the strategic adviser in the officer slot I guess it could be mitigated? Are the drawbacks worth assault proton torpedoes and ordnance experts on a beefier Assault Frigate?

If so, what would you use as support vessels? Sato seems to want to take a medium fighter screen, particularly A-wings with intel, and I love VCX100's for strategic on objective tokens, but I don't know what other ships I should take. Yavaris seems like it wants bombers more than interceptors, and I can't think of any direct synergies really besides taking a transports with toryn farr + bright hope. Would an mc30 fit best into a list like this? Or would hammerheads best fit into it, because it seems like sato turns them into little demons.

So here is a preliminary list I thought up

Targetting beacons, Fire Lanes, Sensor Net

Armored Cruiser

-Sato, ordnance experts, assault proton torpedoes, expanded hangers, h9 turbolasers, electronic countermeasures, strategic advisor

Hammerhead torpedo corvette *3

-All with ordnance experts, external racks, and task force antilles

4 A wings

2 VCXs

1 Jans Ors

I think Jan is a bit wasted, as she has no cover. Trade her out for Tycho.

I have been trying to figure out the best ships to work with the MC75 as well. I think this look pretty good! I might give this kind of thing a short I don't think you need expanded hangars though. I'd go for reinforced bulkheads, just for a little more survival of the beast. A lot of those A-wings will probably get tied down pretty fast. I think Jan for Tycho is a good move too.

I think this looks pretty interesting. I have tried torpedo hammerheads and you definitely want the Task Force Antilles.

I would try to squeeze in a comms net flotilla if you can. Maybe dropping Jan, switching an A wing to Tycho, and dropping expanded hanger bays.

I have found Toryn Farr really nice with the A wings, and VCXs. A wings get rerollable counter, and VCXs become more reliable anti ship damage if you face a no squadron list. She might be hard to fit into this concept without really cutting squadrons, but you could consider drop H9s I suppose.

I too am interested to see if the Armored Cruiser works well while using squadron commands, or if it is a little too overtasked. Squadron 3 + ordnance slot for black crits is really enticing.
