How to double Shadow Caster?

By NABLA_OPERATOR, in X-Wing Squad Lists

Hey guys,

I am looking for a regional list, that fits my gameplay and has answers against all (or most) the common meta lists and is not Miranda Nym :D

I am thinking about double shadow caster with "time walk" elements on both ships.

Pretty obvious choices are:

-Countermeasures (on both)

-Scavenger crane (on both)

-Glitterstim (on both, debatable)

-Latts (on Asajj)

-Dengar (on Ketsu)

-Title (on Ketsu)

My current list is:

Ketsu Onyo (38)
Attanni Mindlink (1)
Dengar (3)
Glitterstim (2)
Scavenger Crane (2)
Countermeasures (3)
Shadow Caster (3)

Asajj Ventress (37)
Attanni Mindlink (1)
Latts Razzi (2)
Glitterstim (2)
Scavenger Crane (2)
Countermeasures (3)

Total: 99

The hard question ist: What are the best EPTs?

Obvious choices are:

PTL - As a result of their very greenish dial, PTL grants both ships Focus+Evade in most situations, what makes them very tanky. However, they are forced to fly green most of the time and are therefore fairly predictable and can't use the whole potential of the lancer's dial, which is one of the best in the game.

Expertise (probably on Ketsu) - Grants high offensive output even after bumb. Leaving the focus for defense. However, it can be shut down by stress control, which is not so rare. Also it is quite expensive for a single attack (unlike Dengar and Quickdraw, the common expertise carriers). You can kick out glitterstim of the expertise carrier and still have enough points for the other'S EPT.

Veteran Instinct (probably only on Ketsu) - Gives Ketsu the opportunity to use the shadow caster title to move enemy ships onto rocks and prevent them from shooting. This is especially useful against Miranda, however quite situational.

Predator (probably only on Asajj) - Gives Asajj native rerolls on attacks. Especially good against PS2 gunboats.

Lone Wolf - Makes on of the ships very tanky, however forces the ships to split up, which might not be the best tactic.

Attani - Cheap way to give good action economy, especially if one ship bumbs. No need to fly green maneuvers. Does not synergize well with Glitterstim. Useless as soon as one ship gets destroied.

What would you pick? How would you adapt "your" list? How would you fly the list against specific match ups? What are good and bad matchups?

Cheers

I don't think I really like Attanni on these. I feel like Assaj is the one who wants two actions the most (and is likely to outlast Ketsu), while Ketsu is the one who often likes to bump. To me, Expertise and Fearlessness (not one you mentioned, but really quite strong) are so good on Ketsu. Going double-Fearlessness with the list you put together could be pretty solid. Adding those hits, particularly against agility-reduced targets can be really strong, and a really in-your-face style. It might not appeal to everyone.

A list I played some casually a few months ago was:

Ketsu (Expertise, Dengar, Glitterstim, Shadowcaster, Countermeasures) 53

Asajj (PTL, Latts, Scavenger Crane, Countermeasures) 47

Agreed, not Attani.

I would suggest the EXACT same list as suggested by @theBitterFig except go with Scavenger Crane rather than Glitter on Ketsu. The Lancers are some of the best ships in the game - the fact that you can fit the 2 best pilots of it WITH their respective best builds in a single list is kind of absurdly good.
