The HH-12 itself is still very situational, but it does indicate that the first 11 points of the Stormtrooper Specialists are paying for the extra body. It does mean that the model is still able to shoot while waiting for the Recover/Refresh action.

Yeah, being able to still shoot without the recover action is what I was referring to. I was expecting to have to refresh whenever you wanted to attack.

I think the main thing I took away from this is that there are upgrade cards only available in the unit expansion set and that you can have 2 of the same specialist unit in the same squad. That means you could make anti infantry and anti vehicle specialized units. That makes a single unit be able to have quite a few different fieldable variations.

UM where do you see that you can have more than one specialist?

Edit: Also the upgrade cards are in the Snowtrooper unit expasion as well.

What do you mean two of the same specialist in each squad? The two emblems on the stormerrooper squad card are different. One is for the specialist one is for extra trooper. The one icon is slightly bigger.

Did anyone even read the article? Second sentence, below the heavy card images

" Stormtrooper units have a single heavy weapon upgrade slot , and the same two heavy weapon miniatures are offered in the Stormtroopers Unit Expansion and the Core Set —the DLT-19 Stormtrooper and the HH-12 Stormtrooper. "

That’s why I was explaining the icon.

I view it as just a filler article, and as exciting as unseasoned mashed potatoes.

Barbaric and tools of the Rebellion.

And I was expressing disbelief, sorry that wasn't more clear. :)

would the HH-12 trooper be any good against infantry?

I just want to see the sprues.

From the core unboxing i believe the come in bags, not on sprue

Does this means that we must expect an article of each unit before the release ?? :( makes me cry

Didn't realize that had come out. So I am guessing there isn't much ability to vary poses?

Sorry guys, may have come off more harshly than intended. I've already copped a lot of flak and had to leave discussions for the stance units are only 6 man max and not 7 already

No worries, that is a complication of not having tone of voice in text. I too have been on that side of some discussions.

troopers pretty much only arms without major remodeling. heads and body are mostly 1 piece but otherwise it feels very recent 40kish without the extra options.

vehicles on the other hand, that are shaping up to be glorious.

Oh I am going to have way too much fun with the AT-ST. Trying to figure out a pintle mount blaster on the top, but going to wait on that one for a bit until I can get hands on.

I think I would have preferred the cost be about 30 or 35 USD and then two units of models and cards. We know the minis don't take up that much space, and those boxes all look oversized. I'd rather pay for content than packaging. Also, if there is a max of 6 Core Troop options, 2 are already in the main box, I'd pay the money top rush to the capacity if it was an option.

They could always release individual squad packs down the line, when the game expands to 1500 points and we have a Force Organisation Chart that emulates 40k.

AWESOME! Looks like I can put it in more articulated walking positions, thought I was going to have to get a bit risky with modeling.

All good, friend!

Man, you're totally right. I guess I was thinking when they said the kit came with both that the unit could have both. Brain farts and wishful thinking don't mix well. Lol

Happens to us all occasionally!

It's no worse than a regular stormtrooper given the ability to use the E-11. I does give 3 extra dice but that is the only plus against infantry. To get the most out of it you really need 3 actions, Ready(ignore this for the first shot), Aim, and shoot. You can only perform 2 per turn. Also not being able to move and shoot hurts it as well. Once Veers comes out they will probably get more use.

It also makes them immobile though.

Solid choice if you get a armor heavy meta, or if you are tactically minded enough to set them up in a good camping spot for most of the game..... but i think dlt-19's and ion snowtroopers will more be the combo's of choice.

I don't know 2 T47's and 3 AT-RT's seems like a pretty badass list. That is if you dont mind running them naked just so you can fill your mandatory slots.
