Guess Leia's Stats Game

I like many of you am eagerly awaiting the Leia reveal. So I figured while we wait let's guess her stats. Here is my guess:

Points: 110

Health: 6

Courage: 4

Red defense die

Offensive and Defensive surge conversion

Movement: 2

Range Weapon: 2 red dice with peirce 2

Melee: 1 red die

2 Leader and 1 Gear upgrade slots

Immune: Peirce

Inspire 2

Units at range 1-2 get offensive surge conversion

An ability like Veer's spotter 2 that gives out dodge tokens

Feel free to criticize any part of my guess or submit a complete or partial guess of your own.

If you feel that theorizing, speculating and guessing on content that has yet to be released just sets people up for disappointment in the final product, say so and we can discuss the merits of that opinion as well. I'm just trying to have some fun while I wait for news.

Is there any upgrade that would grant her extra-atmospheric flight? /s

I could see her gaining some surge conversion based on her suppression or suppression of nearby allies. "Get in the garbage chute, flyboys!"

I hope she won't be "like Veers, but with Dodge tokens". It's boring design, and I'm wary of allowing one faction to stack defense mods. It never ends well.

I hope they don't give Leia a Force slot, as GCW era Leia does not exhibit obvious force powers. I expect she is supposed to be the "cheaper" commander option for Rebels in the first wave.

I could see some sort of morale buff in a radius.

While Leia is a great character, and certainly capable, I think 6 health and 4 courage are too high, especially if you expect her to have Immune: Pierce and Inspire 2 , and a defensive surge conversion. Combine this with the Esteemed Leader command upgrade, and she'd be nearly invincible. I don't think we will see a commander that's harder to kill than Vader for a good long while.

I would say 4-5 health and 2-3 courage. If only 4 health, this will be offset by some combination of Immune: Pierce , Nimble , and/or Rebel Fleet Troopers having Guardian .

Red defense die, but no surge conversion- she doesn't wear armor and there's no way she should be better at blocking attacks than a Jedi or Sith.

I agree with Inspire 2 , this feels right for Leia. I kind of expect to see another new keyword on her, but I couldn't guess what this would be other than an ability to give friendly units dodge tokens, like you've already guessed.

Movement 2, a ranged attack of 2 red dice and 1 red in melee all seem reasonable as does 2 command upgrade slots and 1 equipment. Maybe Sharpshooter 1 , she does appear to be a decent shot in the movies.

For her cost, I'd guess in the range of 80-100.

I don't expect Leia to have Immune: Pierce, I think that ability will be reserved for characters armed with lightsabers, as thematically they are blocking the shots with their lightsaber, so Pierce won't have an effect.

She might have an offensive surge conversion to represent being a good shot. Defensive probably not? But I could see a Nimble style upgrade.

I like what you say about Immune:pierce thematically. To me it looks like pierce will be a fairly common trait at least for commanders. I would like to see some non jedi commanders in the mid to upper 100s point range at some point. I'm wondering if they lack Immune: pierce if they will be too easy to kill.

I probably over guess her defense especially if she is only at 110 points. I guess my thought was I expect Leia to have more of an impact on the game through her leadership than her combat skills or tactics, but if she is too good of a buffbot she will be go down too fast without some decent defense. Then again there is some thematic sense to countless soldiers sacrificing themselves to be save the princes.

The courage value is one I'm really interested to see what it is. I think it is going to be high. This is the character that insulted Vader and Tarkin as a prisoner on the Death Star and proved to be resilient to the interrogation droid. I don't see her losing her nerve easily.

I wondered about a Force slot as well as a Skywalker it makes sense but you are right it doesn't feel right thematically.

She probably will be in the ballpark of Veers points wise. I kind of think she might be cheaper than him, but as a major character I would like to see her be more than the cheap commander for the rebels.

What is your guess more or less than Veers?

I understand your thoughts but I really wouldn't be surprised at all if that was her ability. I can see them wanting her to synergize with the rebel troopers similar to how Veers synergizes with stormtroopers.

Yeah this is GCW Leia and she isn't really aware of or using force powers at this point. She should be a good shot but not a powerhouse in combat like Luke or Vader. She should have good synergy with the troops though, buffing them while providing some reasonably powerful blaster shots here n there. I also think she should be a bit more significant than Veers who is a really minor character in comparison.

I'd like her to get a Force power slot, but that's just because Battle Meditation is so delicious.

Enrage on nearby Ewok units when she is hit...

But seriously, tactical bonusses would fit her most. Say extended command range or and extra command token to place in the next turn as an action?

I guess we'll find out? Veers doesn't have Immune: Pierce from what I've seen, but with his Spotter and Inspire abilities are likely indicative of what to expect from Leia. She might have Nimble which would give a way to make her more survivable? I'm also interested if there are plans for any multi model commanders, or commanders with troop "upgrade" slots that could be used for taking bodyguards/a way to sort of purchase more health for the commander.

I would expect to see her somewhere between Veers and Luke. I think character with Force slots will innately cost more even if we ever see one without a Lightsaber as a sort of "tax" on the Force upgrades.

I think that would be a VERY expensive commander as they are messing with the bidding for first activation part of the turn. Those sort of abilities might be represented in the Command Cards for that commander, with low number of pips but still 2 unit activations.
