Painting in cold or humid environments

You can build your own, or purchase one on Amazon. They're necessary for airbrushing just to keep the paint particles from getting everywhere. The main issue with spray paint indoors is the fumes from the propellant are not healthy, but if you have a place you can just LEAVE the fumes while they vent, it's a possibility.

Im not planning on airbrushing

I understand that, however similar usage for the spray booth would apply with spray paint indoors. It's not typically a strong enough fan to deal with the fumes, but it should minimize the paint particles in the air.

I live in a cold environment too, just a couple miles from FFG in MN, and the best $80 I've spent is for my airbrush. It allows me to prime inside during the 9 months of year we stay indoors. It also gives way better coverage than rattle cans without ruining detail.

Seriously consider an airbrush, even if you only use it for priming.

I live in Austin, TX. With massive temp swings during winter and, then, 9 months of triple digits. I am new and still working with rattle cans for priming and painting. In short ...

Yes, temps; humidity and wind WILL make using aerosol cans a challenge. Too far away from model on hot day? Paint drys and flecks/spots on model. Too close on a muggy day? Runny and floods details of the model. Cold, damp day? Paint can freeze/bond back together and, then, flecks/spots.

In my short time of painting ... months... all of that has happened to me and, currently, 90% there on an airbrush. Just tired of the general lack of control and bad results due to weather.
