For what it’s worth FFG France has the following units for first quarter 2018: wraiths, Outland Scouts and the Uthuk units.

Elven Infantry is second quarter.

I’d be ok with that. By the time they release the Latari swordsmen I should have everything else that I’ve brought painted.

I Auppose I’ll cope. That’s going to be a lot of darnati warrior purchases on the odd chance I want to field the 3x3.

Disappointing, but I'll live.

I am starting to be concerned that Uthuk and Latari will remain perpetually behind. This puts both in a situation where they not only are missing a type of unit entirely where Waiqar and Daqan have all 4 of their core unit types, but it'll put them in a spot where Waiqar and Daqan have all 4 core units AND a special unit on top of that. I do NOT want that to continue, long-term. At the same time, I also don't want to condemn Waiqar and Daqan to stagnant options for a year if they have to miss out on waves while the Latari and Uthuk catch up. Hopefully, Q2 can see double-releases for Latari and Uthuk, and then we can see a late Q3 wave or something to kick off an "every faction gets something" status quo for wave releases.

Personally, I would be disappointed if every faction remained entirely symmetrical. Like right now, if every faction but Uthuk got a siege-sized hero next and Uthuk got a small hero everything would start to feel too cookie cutter.

Having said that, cavalry, infantry, archers and siege are the core unit types and every faction should have something available for each.

So yeah, I'm totally looking forward to seeing what direction each faction goes!

Take a look at the upcoming column and you see that your message is wrong. elven warriors are at the Printer, which means end of march earliest, same are ulthuak pacjs from Basic set. Scouts, wraiths and ulthuak hero are still in deveopment, which means end of second or more likely third quarter. There are still no Ulthuak rangers announced.

this Long way is because unewars miniature game has no priority like x wing , and is just one game as any other. that means FFG has lost interest in it, too low selling. and that means that propably no further Expansion sets will ne made than those yet announced. i would be happy if more Comes, but i doubt it. Runewars is already dead.

Short to say it means, that ffg wants to sell a " with nearly nothing" tabletop game with the sucess of Games Workshop Warhammer in ist best times ! And when reality Comes, everything is shut doiwn and they run away !

In 2019, when Barrow Wyrms and Chaos Lords are terrorizing Terrinoth's battlefields, I think you'll still be telling us the game is dead.

Also for a “dead game” my store has 5-6 regular players and since Christmas we’ve added 2 more and I have two more players saving to get in.

Armada isn’t dead, but it’s releases for q4 2017 were announced in Aug but aren’t going to be released until this Quarter. FFG has prioritized Legion and all other games have been backburned until that gets rolling. If you noticed, there’s been no new xwing articles or rumors either since the early dec release.

They also have job openings for a plastics production coordinator and a digital sculptor. Maybe they are behind?!?

I think it'd be nice if, in the end, the factions all got the equivalent units, but how they were released was staggered so everything was different. Eg:

Q1:

Waiqar- Hero

Daqan- Monster

Latari- Flying unit

Uthuk- Cavalry

Q2:

Waiqar- Flying unit

Daqan- Cavalry

Latari- Monster

Uthuk- Hero

Etc etc. Then things don't feel as same-y, and it regularly shakes up the gaming scene.

Looks like the french site now shows all the unreleased boxes as in development, scheduled for Q2 2018.

C'mon FFG... at least finish the initial releases for all factions.

Legion is right on schedule. If it hasn't shipped to stores in 2 weeks, then it is behind.

It is all just speculation.

I would doubt they are delayed given this insane news push they're doing for Legion. I also expect to see RW articles resume after this stuff is released.

Not to mention, if the speculation about back-bothering the new Rune Wars releases to get Legions out the door is remotely accurate (as seems reasonable), delays to Legion would mean that was all in vain, so no, @Hawkman2000, I wouldn't be consoled... ?

Legion has the flashy IP, but I feel like it's a bigger barrier to entry. You're expected to handle 3d terrain as well? Most X-wing and Armada players are immediately turned away from having to do painting too. I really wonder how well it will perform.

I think it is more likely to get people into the hobby than it is to turn people away. Plus, if they sell 3D terrain...

Do we need official FFG terrain? There's some companies already selling pre-painted terrain that should work fine for Runewars.

There are guides for using terrain in the rules. It's for casual play, and both sides need to agree on stuff.
