Armourer skill - which classes have it?

By ash cleric, in Dark Heresy Rules Questions

I don't know if i have a early edition of the rulebook but whilst creating a tech priest for a new player i noticed that thech priests do not have access to the armourer skill indeed none of the classes seem too. Does anyone know which classes and at which ranks players can get the armourer skill?

Tech-Priests can pick up the Trade(Armourer) skill at Rank 2, the +10 at Rank 4 and the +20 at Rank 5 for 100XP each. It is in the Errata v.3.0 (pgs 6-7). That seems to be the only Career path that has the Trade(Armourer) skill available.

Edit: Though there is nothing really stopping any Career Path from picking up the skill as an elite advance (except for GM approval). And it seems (at least to me) a little counter intuitive that certain Career Path's don't have this skill (like perhaps Guardsmen or Assassins) for improving their weapons.

thanks for the info. where do i find the errata pages? They'll be be handy to have

Nice one! can't thank you enough

All technology is the sole domain of the Adeptus Mechanicus. For some lowly human (non AdMech) to even consider his unholy, fleshy hands worthy of crafting or modifying something is heretical and he deserves to be disciplined and turned into a servitor so that he may continue to serve the rest of his existence in the way most befitting to him and of the most use to the Imperium and the Mechanicus.

True enough but just as players have access to forbidden knowlege shouldn't they also have knowlege of forbidden trades if they are willing to risk the consequences of such knowlege?

If there is a Tech Priest in the group then that is his job. If he finds out about or sees anyone defiling a holy machine he needs to be sure to let his superiors know about the Heretek after he has taken care of the problem. Also, he needs to inform them that the Inquisitor he was sent to watch/assist is supporting tech heresy and the infringement of the sovereign rights of the Adeptus Mechanicus.

I'd like to disagree. Let me point to the Gun Fanes and Forges of Gunmetal City. To my knowledge, they all make, assemble, and sell guns, but they had to be sanctioned by the Ad Mech.

I would know, my assassin is from Khyar-Addin. (sp?) And, thanks to finishing training from our team Tech Priest, he has base Armourer. I figured this allows him to maintain his own guns and his armor. Granted, if it takes major overhaul, he'll probably take it to Psy or to a gunshop, but he likes to honor his father's profession while keeping in shape for his mother's.
