I don't doubt it, FFG has been quite good at bringing female heroines into the Star Wars Universe through their games. There has been at least one Female character introduced in each expansion of Imperial Assault. (In the Bespin Expansion the Ithorian was a female.)

Maybe we can get a "Female Villain" some time soon?

Like these new troopers. I had hoped for a New Hope Leia with the hairy earphones as I thought would make a better model but i can see why they'd go for the more commanding later version.

They have introduced a few female pilots/officers serving the Empire in X-wing and Armada, so I would not be surprised. Rebels has a female Inquisitor and female governor leading ground troops as far as "canon" goes.

@levicitus While more iconic, that really isn't an outfit meant for ground combat. I have been told long dresses are typically not great for movement, and a helmet is sensible. Besides, as a Rebel I wouldn't want to be wearing white as my allies would likely mistake me for a stormtrooper.

yes...and FFG have stated this will be happening as much as they can so We will probably get 1+ female sculpts in every unit.

I doubt it, buuut anything is possible.

I expect to see these guys in the same vein as snowtroopers, basic troops with a different mechanic and specialists to the hoth based guys. When spec ops does get here i'm thinking it will be hoth rangers, wookies or demo experts (stealing from ia with new mechanics, as they do with other games)

The Fleet troopers/Marines are probably just Infantry. I get the feeling FFG is going to be trying a similar release pattern to Armada as far as releasing models that fill similar roles (Armada released both flotilas in the same wave for instance) so I predict both will get a Commander and a Troop for the next wave.

So what do we think we will get for specialists?

I don't *think* theres any real cannon for it (my knowledge of the comics and books is weak) .......

I hope the ship marines will be normal toops for variety in the troop department and then we get a different Specialist unit later

Saboteurs for the Rebels judging by IA and I heard a rumour about scout trooper snipers. Specialists are another good place for named characters, particularly ones that are not commanders.

I like the look of these but I was really hoping for an article today. I'm thinking we won't be getting one though. FFG will have us sit and simmer the whole weekend and into next week before anything pops up.

Was referring to unit specialists, but i agree.

Think maybe anti infantry heavy (repel boarders!!) and weak anti tank but we'll see.

A fleet trooper with the big rotary cannon would be so awesome looking! I am guessing these guys will specialize in some kind of close combat. Maybe a shotgun trooper unit upgrade?
