Critique my Light side deck

By Ace_of_Spades, in Imperial Assault Skirmish

Hello Guys and Ladies!

I am not too deeply into competitive skirmish but played some friendly match.

Now for a friendly match my future oponent asked for me to bring a Light side force user deck.

This is what i came up with:

Can you give me some advice what neded to be corrected?

Just a few ideas:

I'd change Jyn to Hera. The bonus move before turn 1 can really help your Melee dudes get into action, and that gives you 1 spare point for Channel of the Force (or whatever it's called). This will allow you to start with Force Rush on your hand. That's basically a three move headstart for Luke or Obi, or if you want to go real deep with Ahsoka. Obviously her damage output bonus is going to be harder to use with no real ranged figures in the squad. Also she's another Leader to use Planning and Officers Training. Speaking of which, I'd swap Mitigation for Officers Training.

There are probably more you could do to make the list more competitive, but in keeping with the spirit of the list these are minor tweaks that could help out some.

Another argument for Hera: On two of the maps in the current rotation, the terminal is four steps away from the deployment zone, but R2 has Speed 3.

Usually, I prefer Chopper over R2, but they are both good.

The list looks solid. I don't really like lists without at least a little bit of fire support, but that's just my style of play ...

I would also swap out R2-D2 for Chopper. It is really nice to get in free damage. If your opponent runs up a 3 health figure, then they have to take the strain or lose the figure.

If you swap in Hera for jyn, keep r2d2- you need command card draw to get son of Skywalker- then maybe balance of the force for the last point

Since you've got a Spy try throwing in Intelligence Leak for some command card control.

For a casual Force User list, this looks pretty fun!

I'd also stick with R2 for more card draw. You want those CCs to really augment your Force Users and pull off shenanigans. It's your call on Hera or Jyn as both are good in their respective roles. The possibilities of getting R2 to a terminal round 1 and fitting in Channel the Force are a pretty awesome with Hera. Of course, Jyn's Hair Trigger and surges are excellent too.

I'd consider replacing Knowledge and Defense with Stealth Tactics or Brace for Impact. While K&D can be used an entire round, it requires one of your actions. Enemies can avoid that figure too which sets up your other figures to get blasted. Having the flexibility to play ST or Brace on any figure that gets in trouble after your opponent commits without an action is more valuable imo. I also second replacing Mitigation with Officer's Training.

Thank you for all of you!
Every suggestion was really worth to consider and was hard to decide.
This is my final list:
