Vader Cymoon

We must be up to our ears in Vader Cymoon builds by now, but why shouldn't we be, this is vader's ship! At first I was looking into pairing spinal with Quad Turbolaser Cannons as a way to cheat in that seventh die, but decided you don't get enough of a chance for accuracy on initial roll to make it worth it imo. These raider II's look fun however with turbines and dcaps... if you double arc with cf you can get 3 + 3 fairly reliably using vader and IF at long range and we all know how good that is from tcr90... small squad screen that we'll probably lose, hopefully not too quickly... assault carrier in most wanted will be hilarious for possible 3 reds with CF against objective ship.

Devastator on Vader Cymoon is... truly something.

Try it. Not only for the obvious offensive effect, but for the pause it gives your opponents when it comes to picking targets.

With the Heavy Ions stripping shields like crazy you may not need the XI7s as many of the shields will have gone. XX9s could be fun.

Those aren’t the new HIE he has there, though I should think they would be a better fit, allowing you to forgo the Xi7 for XX9s as you suggested.

Also, Quad turbos would be great paired with Captain Jonus. That ensures you get an accuracy, at least once, then reroll with Vader. You can ditch Whisper to make the changes.

I like the Horn Face inclusion.

So a points neutral change could be

  • Swap out both High Cap Ions for the new Heavy Ions
  • Change XI7s for XX9s
  • Change expanded hangar for boosted comms on the flotilla. Then you may not need the relay so could swap the shuttle for Zertek to attract initial fire and use his braces.

I can't decide between a Cymoon-Tua and an ISD2-Chimeara (same cost) in this list...
I also seek an opinion about one of the support ships.

ISD2 gives flexible fleet commands, medium range AA, and 9 rerollable dice in blue range (w/o CF).
Cymoon gives accuracy shinanigans, 6-7 rerollable dice at red range (w/o CF), and strong close range AA.
