Wave 7 Apollo Screed

By Mad Cat, in Star Wars: Armada Fleet Builds

A shield stripper list using Screed to remove lots of shields at range with 3 lots of Heavy Ions. Two of these can fire at long range (once) against targets that do not have evades. Finally Demolisher nips in to finish off shieldless targets with ACMs.

396/400 Opening Salvo, Capture VIP, Solar Corona
ISD-II, Screed, Gunnery Team, ECM, Heavy Ion, Strategic Adviser 173
Raider-II, Heavy Ion, Disposable Capacitors 60
Raider-II, Heavy Ion, Disposable Capacitors 60
GSD-I, Demolisher, ACMs 73
Ciena, Rudor 30

I dig it. Gonna be hard to fly, but a load of hurt when you can tack the Ions on one target. And hitting something shield less with ACM is painful. But you are already gonna be fighting uphill vs fast MSU like TRC90's, why soup them up more with OS? Maybe blockade run? You have a lot of fast agile ships, and in an unfavorable matchup you can just run try to hit a couple flotillas and run the gauntlet for a 7/4.

I see the ISD2 as the finisher, so maybe LS on that one?

I like it a lot.

I think you might be overinvested into the ions--just two of those hitting, added to the small amount of accompanying natural damage, will strip most of the shields from most things. What do you think about repurposing one of those Raiders into a R1 flotilla/corvette assassin with ExRax/Sensor Team to shore up your vulnerability to the fast MSUs that Brob pointed out? That'll help on the squadron defense side as well, and it's also not a bad tool to have in your box against the whales the rest of your fleet is built to hunt.

Alternatively, you might keep the Raiders in the shield-stripping role and build the ISD as a ranged outright damage threat, like an IF Cymoon or something like that.

Definitely agree with Brob on OS. This is a Blockade Run list IMO.

How about complimenting those HIEs with some ACMs?

Maybe a Kuat for the flagship with both and fire control team?

Blast all their shields off and then deal tons of hull damage with the wrap around?

Here's what I put together for a Screen HIE list. I'm going for max speed attack runs, rather than max procs of HIE. And I see the PryceSD as a bigger, burlier Demo. Insidious hunts support ships, Avenger and Demo tag-team anything in the game and dare it to survive, and you just hope the enemy never catches you in their sights.

Qft

I think wab better in pairs at least in mi mind

WAB won't do much on the Raider without External Racks. Most likely only 1 damage, 2 if you're lucky and 3 tops. I prefer your first list, but why don't you bring another Raider instead of the Glad?

Im not an expert but I have it from multiple reliable sources that you should go either APTs or ACM but not both

I kind of like it MadCat. Slight flotilla issue mind.

@Nostro ditch boarding troopers, just go fire control teams...

Interesting Kuat.

So the plan is to strip shields, making redir irrelevant, then BTA flips 2 tokens at close.

You have Screed, but no rerolls tho. Try it, report back :)
