Who else thinks that the X-Wing has suffered power wise over the course of the game?

Wouldn't it be awesome to get a 2/3 pack of T-65 blue squadron X-Wings from ROGUE ONE with general Antoc Merrick, Farns Monsbee and Barion Raner or something as pilots as well as some fix cards and upgrades for the ship!

We need the X-Wing to be better because, well the game is named after it.

It's been speculated that the Khirax title is a sort of test bed for an X-Wing fix. (I don't know if FFG has explicitly stated so, but the two fighters are very similar in point cost and capabilities)

Personally, I'd like to see an Original Trilogy Battles pack, with the X-Wing and TIE fighter, with titles and updated pilots that are more competitive in the current meta.

I think most would agree with you that the iconic ship that the game is named after could use a serious overhaul. Whether FFG has the time, resources, etc, do do it is another matter.

I had a number of ideas for Titles drawing from the old EU, including the T-65C A2, (add Boost and Barrel Roll) T-65D, (replace Astromech with a second System slot) and T-65 AC4 (use the A-wing maneuver dial). Another thought I had was an X-wing only System upgrade that turns the Primary weapon into Heavy Laser Cannon (range bonuses would still apply).

Also, a Rogue Squadron Pilot (PS6 with EPT, and when outnumbered it can perform any 2-speed maneuver as an Action. When performing a maneuver it normally can't, assign a stress token).

Wouldn't an alternate paint scheme be better than another red squadron ship though?

Which X-wing fix do you mean? Integrated Astromech, Flight Assist Astromech, or the fact that you can stack them?

A lot of people have been expecting a ''fix'' or ''buff'' for the T-65 X-wing since the nerf of Biggs. A title is what most people want At the very least I think a Rogue One Aces pack is one option but I would want a Rebel Veterans Pack with both an X-Wing and a Y-wing.

I'm still waiting for the first TIE Fighter "fix."But since they spent years trying to kill TIE Swarms (which they succeeded in doing,) I won't be holding my breath for one.

Do you think FFG is trying to kill the swarm or that they just don't care if it dies? suspect the latter.

It's no secret that they thought TIE Fighters were originally undercosted. They've been trying to push swarms out since then, from Assault Missiles to Phantoms to Brobots to JM5K to wookiees, and now the prevalence of bombs. I don't presume to know how they feel about it. I'm just saying the X-wing has been upgraded a few times to the delight of most players, while the TIE Fighter still hasn't even received a Title card yet.

They *were* trying to kill the swarm. The meta, especially on the imp side, was very stagnant all the way up to W4. 6 Academy TIEs, Howrunner, 4 points for your favorite EPT/Mod on Howly, or occassionally upgrading an AP to Backstabber/DC. From August 2012 until Spring 2014 that was the only real competitive Imperial build. Every now and then you'd see a few others pop up... Triple Bounty Hunters were popular for awhile, and Darth Vader leading the charge of TIEs had a decent run. Even the buzzsaw shuttle had some decent play time. But the swarm was super powerful and everything except 3x BH used at least a mini swarm to complement them. They finally succeeded at killing it off completely in W4 with Whisper, but the mini-swarm was still the best thing to put with her. Then W5 introduced the Deci and that was her natural wingmate then.

But looking back, I wonder if it was a lack of ships and options that influenced folks towards the swarm. And now there's choices, so no need for playing a swarm. Regardless, it is what it is now.

See I would think what you say here is closer to the real reason. The swarm was good but also, there just wasn't much else to play. I think if it was better now people would play it more but you still wouldn't see it as much as before. I think its a **** shame tbh because it could be one of the last few builds where generics actually matter.

I'd hope a Rogue One Aces/Scariff Aces pack would be the blue X-Wing and Grey Y-Wings, while a Rebel Veterans pack would include an E-Wing w/title and another ship, as the Imperial Veterans was a Defender w/title and a bomber.

But that's just me wanting something for the E-Wing and a Scariff Aces pack.

More than likely. There weren't many upgrade options, so the best option was the best chassis. Kapow, TIE swarm.

OTOH, a swarm of TIEs should be just as iconic in this game as a space superiority X-Wing.

The lowly /ln needs a way to boost damage output (because 2 dice don't mean squat these days) while encouraging formation flying. Maybe in groups of 4. . .because it seems like whenever Han had TIE trouble, there were 4 bogies.

IMHO, The X-Wing still suffers from mods in all the wrong places. If you take IA, it uses up your mod. Thus, no Chips for your ordnance, and no access to a non-situational Barrel Roll. FAA is good (but situational), and again uses up the astromech. To me, it's "customization" mods are just bizzarely kitted out.

I bought 3 of the red ones when I started. Now I have enough for my large squad builds

It irks me that of the 2 New Republic ships in the game (E- and K-wing) the K-wing is leaps and bounds better than anything else (to the point where, currently, it's on top of the meta) while the E-wing is terrible. I also want the Partisan X-wing from Rouge One.

This. Fine, swarms are boring but that's the Empire. I run mini-swarms and have a lot of fun with them because I want my squad to look like the Empire.

And yes, the X-wing fixes are good, but I agree. It needs more mod options at the very least (#makevaksaithexwingtitle).

Part of me says the only fix the X-Wing needs is a real-money cost effective way to purchase the cardboard for Flight Assist Astromech (and Integrated Astromech, to a lesser extent).

While I'm not saying the combo isn't great, one thing which strikes me about it is how few options you'll have for further upgrade. A Torpedo slot, and possibly an Elite. On Wedge or Wes, that Elite is probably stuck being the boring VI, so just the Torpedo, and without Guidance Chips, it's often not worth filling. I guess TIE Strikers don't have too many slots to work with either. They seem like an interesting comparison to me. They've both got a bit of extra mobility, a 3-red/2-green stat line, not quite as many hit points as you might want, and few options to upgrade them.

With the game most likely moving into canon outside the classic trilogy era since that content will be fresh for new ships, I'd love to see a cross faction aces pack. Let's call it Heroes of History or something like that. Throw in a Y-wing and a TIE Interceptor since, well, who doesn't have at least 2 T-65 X-Wings and TIE Fighters by now?

What's in the box you ask? I'm thinking new pilots for the included ships, but more for other ships! A few more X-wing pilots, throw in some for TIE Fighters and Gunboats. Maybe one or two for A and B-wings. But wait! There's more!

Titles! Give X-wings more mod slots! Grant unshielded TIEs something to mitigate their delicate nature (been toying with a twist on a bullseye arc where you get either a second attack or just add a hit result), some global modification that grants a chance to avoid bomb damage and grants another mod slot...
