Can you place recharge tokens on an action card that has 0 recharge?

By veryangrytoad, in WFRP Rules Questions

Hi Everyone

Could you help with the above question? In an example that happened tonight the character in question didnt have any action cards that required recharge and suffered a delay(conservative stance) on his role so the GM decided to hit him for 2 recharge points on one of his action cards. Whats your opinion on this?

Thanks Mark

That seems perfectly legit as per the RAW a GM can put two recharge tokens on any action card the player has.

Delay: If at least one hourglass symbol appears in the results pool, the action causes a delay. During
encounter mode, after the action is resolved, the GM has the option to either place two recharge counters
on one of the rolling character’s action cards
, or move the topmost token for the delayed character on the
initiative track down one space in initiative order.

The 0 on the action just means that by default it does not gain any recharge counters, not that it cannot gain any recharge counters.

I agree with Lexicanum. I don't see any reason why the tokens couldn't be thrown onto an Action with a "0" Recharge and the RAW doesn't prohibit this. I think it would make for some interesting in-game justification for how/why it happens. happy.gif

Yep that's made for... A melee attack on conservatice stance, in example, implies caution and sometimes takes more time (hourglass : 2 token, -1 at the immediate end of the character's turn... so that's one)

I absolutely do this. It's great when all their other attack oriented cards are already recharging and instead of just extending one by two tokens, you the two tokens on their Basic attack. Next turn, they can't attack and have to do something else.

My fav move is putting them on channel power and watch the wizard get mad.

haha, that is funny. watch out though. your wizard might try to poison you at the table.
