I put my money down for pre-order months ago.

It's funny. Because with us getting the news and the spoilers, and people (not me) playing things on Vassal, by the time a wave actually hits, it's a little anticlimactic (especially if it's just a repaint of a ship you already have).

But it does mean that we should be getting news of Wave 8, and that's exciting! (SSD!)

Tough call. Buy enough Legion to play a full game (and risk it not taking off locally or not liking it) or buy Armada expansions where I've not had much desire to play the game in some time (and miss out on some goodies whenever I get the passion back).

I'm not getting a 2nd Chimaera out of protest, like @Darth Lupine , but I'm also not sold on Legion. Maybe if it had been at a grander (ie. smaller) scale, to represent battles over worlds... but it isn't.

@Admiral Theia might still drag me in, but that will depend on her powers of persuasion vs. my present lack of wanting to throw down for a third big FFG game.

I have money to burn so I am buying into Legion.

I haven't had a squad based tactical minis game to play since WH40K, so I'm interested for what it is with a FFG rules polish put on it.

Will report back with Legion impressions.

Legion core set (doubling up and swapping with a friend) plus the AT-ST; and two of the Profundity expansion; is a cool $220 MSRP...

But my free time is sweating more than my wallet, I already get in less than optimal levels of Armada.

I don't think this is any accident that the street date is two days before the regional tournament at the FFG store in Minneapolis. Marketing and hype genius for local players.

I'm trying to get my family to need a trip over there (8 hours) that weekend, and now I could also buy plastic without having to wait a week for it to arrive (because I live on the edge of the American Outback).

As I recall, the new ships and upgrades would be tourney legal there on Feb 3. What a wild day of games that would be! I presume that is usually a large competitive field.

That's cool. I have a similar thing with my Sable Squadron, except that it's heavily-highlighted/drybrushed grey-with-a-slight-tinge-of-blue-over-black.

Well it wasn't out in time for my birthday (Jan 11), but i'm still very happy this wave is coming sooner as opposed to later.

Now we can all start the hype for wave hate

I'm completely surprised this is dropping before Legion. I'd really expected the opposite.

Funny, I think they have previewed every wave, after wave 3, before the previous wave shipped...

Something BIG could be coming very soon!

I feel like it plays a bit of a mental shell game. If it dropped after Legion, they might be spending so much time on the new shinies that they decide to wait a bit to hop on Armada. Doing it this way, we jump on Armada cause it's first, then legion anyway, empty bank accounts be damned.

Pretty much how I feel. Although I'm being very conservative on Legion spending. Not buying into another Armada where only 3 people play at a time.
