Well the topic is the question.

I wanted to create a chiss who grew up on Nar Shaddaa after his parents were killed. ( They were Traders ).

Now heres the question whats the Chiss name convention for Commoners ?

I know how the name Thrawn came into existance, but its seems like every Chiss is part of the ruling families or the military, how do "normal" Chiss name themselves ?!?

I think they get named the same way as the ruling Chiss.

Yeah, just make up a really long, weird name with lots of apostrophes in it, then come up with a sensible name based on that. Eioiejf'eios'wee becomes Eios. Or Tyeorp'sowexi'proexuyt becomes Sowexi.

You typically thrown in the last letter from the first part and the first letter of the last part.

Ie. Suhhr’olla’katthu becomes Rollak.

Well yes, but if i got that right its like this:

"Family Name" "Call Name" "Name of Working House ?"

Like Thrawn: Mitth'raw'nuruodo -> Thrawn

Mitth his adopted Family Name or for a non adopted the born Family name.

Nuruodo The Family he "serves" since hes in their rule segment.

Now how would a chiss be named who doesnt have the last part since hes "just" a trader, or has been exiled.

Or in case of that char if he never been in the Chiss Ascendancy.

As an Example: If Thrawn would have been born into the Mitth Family but would have decided to leave the Ascendany how would he be named ?

Like: Mitth Family Name + call name: Th'raw -> Thraw ?

Probably the family that he would have served were he in the Ascendancy.

So following my Example:

Mother "Lura" and Father "Dami" of house Zosha (he born into it, she joined throught marriange) serving house Sabosen as Explorer Traders by trading needed medical components with "the Known Galaxy" would have had the Names:

She: Zosha'Lura'Sabosen -> A'lura's -> Aluras

He: Zosha'Dami'Sabosen ->A'dami's-> Adamis

Once they died their son "kun" would become Zosha'Kun and since he doesnt "serve a other house -> A'kun -> Akun

Did i get that right ?`!?
