That final trailer is pure gold.
I have GMed so many heist scenarios in the SW universe that I am now more excited for this movie than I thought possible.

I also dig that fur jacket on the Snowtrooper-looking guys. I bet it's some sentient species fur, though, just 'cause.
Nice trailer. Hated the music though.

Watch the beastie boys version of the first trailer. It's great.
YES...this is the first Star Wars movie that will depict your typical EotE adventure on screen. For that reason alone I am excited about this one.

I loved the music. Very Western feel. Reminds me of Firefly.

Unfortunately, this might also be why it bombs...
The "broad" public wants a few things from Star Wars, I've learned.
Namely, they want Lightsabers, the force and a sense of galaxy impending heroics.
It might just be that they won't take to a heist movie with no lightsabers or the force very well.
I genuinely hope I'm wrong, but one of the complaints I saw about Rogue One was the lack of lightsabers and the force (even though there were plenty of references to the force).
A good script and a decent movie might prove otherwise!
I bet Rian will claim his movie helped if it succeeds but blames the same people who disliked his movie if it doesn't!
Just make sure those dice are from his parents not his girlfriend ok?!
Why has this not been posted! Lando has a freakin' cape room! An entire room devoted to capes!
I imagine the conversation goes something like this:
Lando: “And this is the walk in closet!”
Han: “The what?”
Lando: “The room where you put all your . . . . vests?”
Han: “I have this vest and my spare vest.”
Lano: “Okay. . . Maybe Chewie needs a . . .”
Chewbacca: ”HURRRANNNK”
Lando: “You are going to store your porn in here, aren’t you?”

It would be great if these are Imperial Army and not the stormtrooper core... Because that's more what I'd envision for the Army.
I like to see this since it supports how I was inserting the Shoretrooper into my campaign. Shoretroopers (imswu) became the original surface troopers. They could be deployed to varying surface environments and carried varying gear. They were veterans selected from the mook shipboard marines (goes along with notes in canon books for Rogue One). Over time the varying gear and environmental training led to permanent specialized units such as Desert and Snow troopers.
The Solo "snowtrooper" look fits nicely between the original snow version of the surface/shore trooper and the future Ep V Snowtrooper.
Here's an interesting development, from screenwriter Jonathan Kasdan :
QuoteSo, given the opportunity to speak with father-and-son “Solo” co-writers Lawrence and Jonathan Kasdan, I asked them about Lando’s possible sexual fluidity. Is he pansexual? “I would say yes,” Jonathan Kasdan emphatically said.
I have never wanted the Tardis to malfunction more than I do right now and deposit Captain Jack in the Star Wars universe. The fanfic pretty much writes itself!
Also, Supernerd Colbert weighs in on the development:

T minus 10 minutes until my first viewing.
Super excited yet somewhat annoyed by the fact that literally ALL shows in Rotterdam are 3D or 4D (are you kidding me?) only. I am not a fan of 3D and am not looking to being taken on a ride...
Well, in that case, looks like I need to stay away from this thread until I get home from the theater tomorrow night. ?
I do not want to spoil anything but "### ##### ## ############".

"Soccorro Jewelry Safe" - might this be influenced by the old Black Sands of Socorro book? Or just a coincidence?
Just came back but I won’t spoil anything for anyone. I know it might be a few days before everyone gets to see it.

Piffft! This is the spoiler thread! If those wussie babies who haven't seen it want to avoid being spoiled (which, I count myself amongst their number - not the wussie babies part, the folks who haven't seen it part), GTFO! Let your spoilers fly!
For now I’ll say it is a nice summer blockbuster and it did, indeed, feel like an EotE game in a lot of ways. Even down to the annoying people derailing the plot, going off to gamble or splitting up the party. It often felt like watching an RPG session.
The parts on Correlia weren’t as cool as they could have been but once they left its surface I thoroughly enjoyed myself. I am squarely in the “the kid is a great Han Solo”-camp.
Solid 7 out of 10 for me.
Edited by DanteRotterdamOh and it is way too safe.
But I am sure no one was expecting any big risks...
Moviebob likes it:
(Spoiler free, by the way, if you are a wussie baby)

I was surprised that he gave it 4 out of 5.
I thought he would give it 3.5 out of 5.
It's a little bit on the save side.
And I am impressed that Lando actually has more capes than I do.

Outside that I would call it a 6/10, I think you nailed it pretty much. I would have loved to have one of the two plot twist be less ... of a small universe style. The whole movie is trying a little bit to hard to throw in references from Bossk to Aura Sing, etc
Now the boss from Dryden Vos was rather obviously, it fits right into the time frame, I smelled that one about 15 minutes or so into the movie, but the end results of the movie. The long-term consequences. Yeah, it's a rather small galaxy. The movie basically became a 6 instead of 7 to me based on that ending. Oh and I think the Kid is just an OK Han Solo, he simply ain't as great has Ford. Same for Lando. I liked the Rebels Lando more, his was just so much more smooth and charming in Rebels, compared to this movie. Still good enough.
...3.5 out of 5 is not 6/10. ?
Come to think of it I actually believe that this movie was a lot more in line with the cartoons (Rebels and the Clone Wars) than with the other movies.
