Solo A Star Wars Story (Spoilers Ahead)

I'm sure, but again, it's kinda weird to go to this length. To lay it out, build it, photograph it from the right angles, and photoshop it onto a box along with four others, and even place a Lego watermark on it. And then to have Lucasfilm say exactly the kind of lame excuse I'd make if something predecisional leaked and we didn't want fess up to it, but also didn't want to get caught in a lie denying it.

I'm not saying it ain't doable. When 40k 8th was coming, someone did write up a pretty complete bogus rulebook. It was just text, but it was pretty lengthy and really took someone a lot of time.

It's that last part that's buggin the crap out of me though. If I were in LFL PR, and it was legit, I'd say NOTHING, or the way it's been going lately, go after the hosts with a DMCA takedown like they did with the Rey action figure. If it were bogus, I'd call it a fake outright, no hesitation. But if it were a predecisional draft, and we'd changed the colors, or other details, but not enough that it wasn't recognizable when compared to the leak... well then I'd say for us to do one of these Yoda-esque "Oh it's 'not official' but I'm not going to actually technically legally say it's fake..."

Theforce.net did have the pictures up a week ago but I figured they got a cease and desist from either lfl or Lego or both.

I checked rebelscum today but didn't find anything so they may have pulled it already. I know that's conjecture but I've seen sites pull star wars Lego images before. Brickpedia forum has a strict policy about using water mark pictures such as these.

Interesting.

I recall reading how a store released a "Rey in Resistance outfit" early and the buyer posted a photo and got a DMCA...

So if these are getting pulled... that might mean something.

RE: the Prequels:

So these show the Mandibles filled in all WEG style, but the Prequels had it open as normal. Interesting...

It just means that Lucas goto do a fun little homage now they are expanding the frontier of canon and characters that it was just another yt-1300 in the background. It's not really doing a retcon just glossing over what he did . Like having E.T. in the Senate. But as of yet it's not a major spoiler.

Oh man the mandible thing makes sense now. I was surprised they talked about the use of the mandibles in conjunction with the new movie, it seemed kind of out of nowhere. This idea will take some getting used to for me.

This is what I've considered the mandibles were for on the YT-1300. Others have posted the image, but I'm not sure where it came from originally:

The new lego version has that gap between the mandibles covered though. Could it be the mandibles can move around a bit to grab things of varying thickness? Perhaps the Falcon of Ep. IV has lost the original removeable gap cover (folds in-half and lays backwards upon the circular hull) or Solo removed it while doing modifications? Glimpses of multiple YT-1300's in the prequels all having a gap (not covered) could also suggest most captains toss the retractable cover since it just gets in the way most of the time?

Lando doesn’t seem the “freighter captain” type, so perhaps the “cover” is the modification, for reasons of performance or just plain cosmetics.

Super Bowl ad:

It looks pretty cool. That Star Destroyer in the clouds/nebula/Maw, the train thing, that guy with Sauron's crown on top of the train, clean Millennium Falcon, young Lando.

Edit: Okay that guy I thought looked like Sauron looks less like that after seeing the full trailer. Still pretty cool though

Feels very Edge of the Empire-ish.

But I'm not gonna lie, I'm not sold on Alden Ehrenreichs Han Solo.

Donald Glover looks great though.

I remain cautiously optimistc.

Looks... Possibly good.

I too am concerned about Alden's ability to portray such a well known Character.

Want to know what's up with that weird TIE fighter.

If that's the falcon interior... What happened? Did Han rub mud all over the interior after this movie?

Also... Correlian send off....

He was a chain deathstick smoker. Those fumes stain like bantha piss.

That's also where his debt with Jabba came from.

Did I see Maz on a turret? Maybe they'll be able to start tying together all those jjabrams mystery threads.

Looks promising

I'd say that I'm in...

Is that Sana Staros?

That’s what I was wondering. We’ve had characters make the jump from prose to animation, and from prose to live action. Reports of Tag and Bink being in this aside, it would be cool to see a character from the comics jump to the big screen.

I’m thinking it’s too much to hope that the droid is a spin on Bollux, though.
