Post your results here!

To score your results I need the following:

Quote

X defeated Y, X's score to Y's score
X was First Player and chose Objective

Everything else is gravy. You can also post concessions here, if you're unable to schedule a game and you want to accept the blame for it. That can be done like so:

Quote

I concede my game to X.

That simple!

@Green Knight defeated @rasproteus , 294 to 90.

GK was First Player and chose Precision Strike.

Very rough matchup for ras, but he gave his best.

My Demo survived some close encounters with Garel's Honor, only to die to mismanagement. If you have Repair Crews and repair tokens: use them before you die

Brobafett defeated Moodswing, 243 to 166 - MOV 77, 7/4
Moodswing was First Player and chose Capture the VIP

What a tense game. Man, two fleets that don't like playing each other- heavy squad with light carriers vs (almost) no squad high activation MC30 spam with Mothma. This led to cagey flying, mental errors on both sides, and insane swings from at one point when I was seriously concerned I might be tabled to pulling out a narrow win.

Big props to @moodswing5537 for being a great opponent and great guy.

@Aresius defeated @Realadmiralsdoitinspace , 162 to 170 - MOV 8, 6-5

Aresius was First Player and chose Minefields.

Very fun game, we lost the MC80 the early turn, the the home one escape from the squadrons with 2 hullpoint remaining.

Tnx for the game and good luck with other opponent :)

@Green Knight defeated @Irishmadcat , 550 to 45 or something. 10-1, MoV 400

It was a 400-0 tabling, with a heap of victory tokens on top. I've forgotten the exact number we had; I can count if its important.

Greenie Pie was 1st player and picked Precision Strike.

Irish ran into trouble in round 2, when his BH with TF and BCC wandered into long range of Vader's flagship. I got a good roll and blew the little bugger out of the sky. That really game me an activation advantage, so I could move both my combat ships after Irish. And as it turns out, angry Bees are not as angry without rerolls. Merely a bit upset.

My ISD took it slow, weathering some bombing runs, but the threat was limited bc of dead BH and a bump that prevented Yavaris from getting that 3xdouble tap at the correct moment.

Meanwhile my Demo rolled up the flank, took out Yavaris and unloaded into Dodonna's Pelta. ISD cleaned house, killing the 2nd flotilla and the flagship, before chasing down the remaining Pelta.

The result is very lopsided, but Irish did not put up a bad fight. What happened was he made 2 mistakes, and he paid for that: losing BH early and failing to get Yavaris into position.

Some of the reason why green knight won

His excellent placement of the cymoon on the back line gave him a better position to sweep in on whatever I deployed and my shenanigans of mixing ships and figthers failed.

Excellent movement with cymoon and demo. Getting in side arc, dodging bomber hordes and setting up murderous AA fire.

General tight play.

Resons why I lost

Cymoon being further back meant I though I had time to get bright hope out of there. I did not.

Fear slash effectiveness of cymoon at long range. I got scared of what cymoon would do to yavris. Plane and simple. This is what contributed to the **** up with it's positioning.

Lack of target focus. At one point I should have just held the B's back and murdered demo with them the turn after. Instead the attacked 3 different ships.

My deployment of bright hope and the second pelta. Bright hope should have started on the back line and the second pelta should have been protecting yavris flank not pretending to be a flottia.

As always @Green Knight was an excellent and generous opponent and I expect to watch him in the final. I have faced varations of his list 3 times and Vader Cymoon messes with what rebel ships used to be able to get away with at long range.

Karneck defeats JJs Juggernaut.
Karneck score 240 to JJs Juggernaut score 97 - MOV 143 8-3

JJs Juggernaut was first player and chose Planetary Ion Cannon.

It was an honor to finally play JJ in our first game on Vassal. I will admit I went into the match very tense and nervous to play a World champion.
I played very defensively and ultimately it SHOULD of been my downfall, but some ungodly dice rolls (3 acc's in a row!!) stripped a brace and a redirect from the MC75 right out of hyperspace. Which allowed me to follow up with Warlord and just barely put in enough damage to end it's threat to me before it could do serious damage. Again with some really good rolls.

Largely, I feel that the die gods were in my favor and not with JJ and that really tipped the balance. Also coming home from a long day at school/work and then playing a game at what was very late evening into early morning for him, that's commitment and displays his passion for the game.

Thank you for the log file!

@All: Please post log files. Playing in the world cup without posting log files is the number one reason for bad dice on this planet. Simply say no to it!

Aaagh. I logged me and Irish, but it got late, so I turned off the PC wo ending the logfile. Duh.

What makes me really angry about that is that you have so much reroll/dice enhancement upgrades that you do not suffer from bad dice! ;)

With the upgrades I'm running luck is definitely still a factor, but blanks are SOOOO rare. Bc why would you want blanks!? :P

Is not my real score 18? 8-3 vs rasp. MOV 204. 220 is required for 9-2.

Edited by Green Knight

Gnips chose first and station assaut.

He killed my Vic, two ER raiders, 1 gozanti and a station for 301pts

I killed Yav, Bright Hope, flotilla and 1 station stayed alive for 161pts

140 MOV 8-3

Dont take a skilled first officer just cause you can.

This wasnt a lesson in how to fly Konstantine, I refuse to play for non engagement, but if a bwing player decides to fly at speed 1 that exactly what I should do, so instead I had to force the engagement as second player. Surprisingly it didnt go well.

Here's the log: Gink v Ghost, VWC Pod 6

Sorry, once again, for the slow playing Gink.

Roquax defeated Thrindal

370 to 205

Thrindal was First Player and choose Station Assault

Corrected. For some reason I had it in my mind as 304.

Updated to this point.

@Realadmiralsdoitinspace vs Darth Veggie ended in 226 - 127 in my favour (7-4 victory). I was first player and we played Minefields.

Here is the log file.

The game was crazy. It was an accumulation of mistakes and wrong decisions. In the end I had made some wrong decisions less and was thereby able to ****** away victory.

Also features of this game: Totally useless A-Wings (mine; they didn't fire one shot), a totally useless CHAMpion (mine as well, waited on his ship till the end of the game) and totally useless repair crews (his; they merely repaired the beer bottles in their hands, by emptying them).

It was gripping, fun, and my opponent is a great guy. One thing I have learned in this game: Real Admirals do it in space!

This game was seriously stressful. I don't know why though. Broba and I are pretty laid back when we play. I made A LOT of errors though, so that didn't help my game. I played on tilt through half I think. Broba played amazing though and it was a blast to play. Looking forward to all future games.

Most stressful laid back game ever hahah. I think it's because we both were feeling the exact same way about our game! I kept kicking MYSELF for playing on tilt after forgetting the VIP token and breaking with my game plan resulting in demo getting blown up, all the while cursing ice-water-in-his-veins Moodswing capitalizing on all my errors (as good players like yourself do!) :D

Looking back on it, really I think it boils down to you engaging with the third MC30. If that MC had followed MM away from my squads, I don't think I would have been able to win. I could have nabbed the transports, but with me messing up the objective like I did, you still probably would have pulled out a 6/5 win. In the moment I didn't see that, and was super worried about that MC30 when you dove it in (that was when I was like, "welp, it's been fun time to get tabled" haha), but without a title Morna was able to chew it up just before it could reach the Quasar.

GK defeats Pod 198-27

Gk Chose first and picked my Most Wanted.

My plan was to deny Gk as many points as possible here, pure and simple. I deployed my squads first and Put my Quasar well out of the action. Gk had deployed right in the corner so i knew it would take him a while to arrive at my flagship.

Tua lept out ambitiously, He ate a salvo that turn2. I retaliated by bringing down Vaders repair crew Goz with Marek and Boba. Gk Flew Demo well to slip out of range of my squads, his Isd moved to hunt down my remaining gozantis, Without my 6 squad strike available I tore a few shields off of the Isd but was in more danger of losing squads to the dual black aa of the cymoon. I disengaged. The Isd killed Kallus turn 4 and would have had Vector on 6 if he could have rolled an Acc.

Whilst commanding squads from the otherside of the table, Myraider overlooked the threat of the oncoming Demolisher too long without Reacting and went down Like the proverbial bunny in the headlights.

Demo nearly had my Quasar at the end too, needing to score a perfect ten damage off of five blacks at the end, seven was the total. I limp away to fight another day!

Big Congratulation to GK taking the group down.

Good Luck to any that may cross his path as we progress!

@Thrindal and I got our game in for Pod 4 this morning. I chose his Superior Positions. Quantum Storm's crew held its breath as it maneuvered into blue range of the Raider and red range of an H9-equipped ISD. It survived, allowing me to drop Raddus (EDIT: specifically, used Raddus's ability to drop an MC75 Ordnance Cruiser with APTs) essentially at the rear of his whole fleet at the start of turn 3. Thrindal made a risky decision to bring his Raider back around to reengage on Turn 5, but it ended up getting double arced by Jaina's Light. He only lost his Gozanti and the Raider, but I gained 75 points of Superior Positions tokens thanks to Raddus, both of us flying really fast, and Imperial rear arcs extending to the side. I scored 173 to his 63 for an MoV of 110, good enough for a 7-4. Thrindal was a great opponent, and Raddus is definitely going to mix things up.

Here's our log file (and where all my log files will be).

Edit 2: @Ardaedhel would be proud of the maneuver Admonition pulls off at the beginning of Round 3.

report to follow..

@PodRacer covered most things.

In a game of Most Wanted and being heavily Outdeployed and facing a relay Sloane/bomber fleet, I had to deploy cautiously to one side or risk early attacks.

Demo was chosen as my mw ship, and losing it would make my points position hopeless against a fleet running away and with relay.

So I knew a full tabling was very unlikely, so I decided to settle for a few Gozanti and some squads after it was clear he wasn't going to focus down the isd when demo cut and run.

A late miss play with his mw raider bagged me 99 points I didn't really deserve ?

Absolutely what happened. I got greedy. Funny thing is, mood from this time last year would have done exactly the opposite. Turn tail and take the 6-5. No risk, no reward.

You have watched me try to evolve my game. It didn't pay off this time, but I think it was what good tourney players do, like yourself. Playing high caliber players will strengthen my game, so Thanks for that. Again, the armada community is super awesome for the growth of the game, and it's players.
