Look! A Runewars article! From last week!

By Polda, in Runewars Miniatures Game

And still elves have to wait!

I spent a long time trying to figure out what that "6" meant in the article's title, and it just occurred to me that it probably says, "Wave 6." Wonder why Darnati Warriors were left out.

Need a translation

According to the article, they already talked about the Darnati.

This one talked about wraiths, scouts, and Kethra.

The thought has occurred to me that maybe they are delaying darnati to release with wraiths and scouts and uthuk core expansions. Sort of level out the expansion drop time so everyone gets something. I just hope they bring elves and uthuk up to par soon.

Is there anything noteworthy in the article?

All the real info is in the images. I'm pretty sure we have seen all the shown cards before.

No. I used Google Chrome to translate and the entire article was fluff we pretty much knew already.

The thing I learned from using Google translate is that we're playing Runewars: the Figures Game.

They could have answered whether Darnati remove a die even if they don't reroll any. I still *think* that's the case, based on the flavor they have in the one article we've had for them (which we've already had one article for Wraiths and Outriders, so I don't get this as a rationale) , but I can see the reasonable argument based on the reroll phase of an attack. But until we get an answer, I'm hesitant to even proxy them to figure out lists.

That's not wrong.

And they attach to plateaus to form units.

Nothing new if you look at the upcoming column sometimes.

Scouts and Wraiths are new kind of troops.from human and undead

Elves with the warriors, missing that new kind of troops yet

Chaos with that hero, missing the new kind of unit too and still the range attack unit.

My favorite translation quirk was that Kethra belongs to the Blood Sabbath instead of the Blood Coven.

Blood Sabbath

That's the name of my Black Sabbath cover band.

That's how they work. It doesn't say after you reroll, it says after rerolls. Check for rerolls, perform all of them, then Darnati remove a die.

Ah, that's at least better than the argument I (thought I remembered) seeing when the article came out, which was "lose a die after every reroll, and then after the rerolls step, too". Which would've been terrible. A slightly more consistent constant 2 blue dice (since you get to choose which to drop) might not be awful. Still, given their fragility, I was hoping for that opportunity for the good-first-roll 3-die burstiness.

The nice thing is, they can remove any die. So if they get effects that add dice, you only have to remove the worst one.

And, as I reflect on the actual math, I suppose a 2-threat unit can still hit 8 damage without upgrades on an ideal double hit-surge roll. Perhaps I need to look at it as an opportunity for MSU rather than an underwhelming 3-threat output. But multi-charges are so tricky in this game.

If you're talking about Darnati Warriors, they only have blue dice. No double-hit on them.

I meant both dice rolling the hit+surge side.

Yeah, max roll without upgrades is 2 hits and 2 surges, but at threat 2, you're getting 4 damage from the two hits and two damage for getting Lethal 1 from each surge, so your damage cap is 6.

Plus the hit on the dial if you're not charging makes 8. I'd have to double check other dials' blues, but a hit on dial on 4 feels pretty good; this might be the unit that File Leader was made for.

Oh, yep, I missed that. I was looking at the unit card and forgot to check the dial. 8 damage it is.
