Female roles that fit with a DW Kill Team. . .

By ItsUncertainWho, in Deathwatch

Idea for a femal role in a Deathwatch Kill-team: Serve tea. Alternately: Go Blizzard and let her run around in skimpy armour, giggling and bouncing her goodies every 5 mins.

The debate on whether there can be female Marines, what female characters would fit in, if you can include a female Inquisitor, yidi-yidi-yada is so boring. Yes, the concept is so misogynic that it hurts, from the outset. Do what the hell you want with it. Toss GW canon out the window and make your kill-team all female. And if you don't want to tweak the published material, play something else. Reduced sales will hurt FFG and they'll think twice before publishing something marketed at males (i e the majority of the tabletop roleplaying community) ever again.

Temple Assassins are born human after which they are inducted into cruel and inhuman training-program, gene-therapy, mind-washing, cybernetics implantation and non-stop propaganda. Yet many of them are expected to be able to comprehend, interpret and mimic the emotional spectrum of a "normal" human.

Space Marines are born human after which they are inducted into cruel and inhuman training-program, gene-therapy, mind-washing, cybernetics implantation and non-stop propaganda. None of them are ever expected to be able to comprehend, interpret or mimic the emotional spectrum of a "normal" human.

Well they would be able to comprehend and interpret human emotions (Some more than other, Salamanders come to mind) otherwise how can they be expected to root out heretics and mutants and such and notice the slight taint of a people, lol. I'm just taking a cheapshot I know, but what can you do, lol

Actually individual Space Marines would rarely be called to identify tainted people and using them for such a purpose would be gross mismanagement of resources. Imperium has specifically picked and trained persons (read: Adeptus Arbites and the Ordo Hereticus of Inquisition) for the express purpose of determining who are heretics. When heretics are found these persons either handle them alone or call in the Heavies (read: Imperial Guard or Space Marines). Imperial Guard is more commonly used because Space Marines are an extremely rare commodity. It is safe to assume that if and when Space Marines are involved the **** has already hit the fan big time and no-one is expected to have the time to start weeding out the innocent from the guilty, the Space Marines will be given specific missions to accomplish (like "conquer hive xxx governors bunker") and expected to do it no matter what. No one gives a **** about innocents at that point since the second option if the Space Marines should fail would often be Exterminatus by orbital bombardment.

I was speaking more in terms of a Deathwatch Marine (a veteran by definition) who may need to be able to see those things depending on the parameters of his mission. And even, say, a Chapter Master would need to be able to tell a person’s true intent so he could decide if they are going to work with that person or not; or if the person asking for help is doing it for nefarious reasons. Possible even a Captain if he is the highest ranking Marine and has to decide such things. But I agree with your point, a standard Marine fresh from Scout training and his operations would still be so indoctrinated that he would not have built back up his perception in that regard.

All the Elf-Players crying cause they want to play an Eldar-Marine.

What about midget-Marines? or Transgender-Marines? Why cant my cat use a microwave?...........

Who wants to play an Eldar-Marine? Playing an Eldar would be really cool and I hope that we'll get the option one day. Either for Eldar-only campaigns or for scouts or pirates who have allied with a radical inquisitor like in the Inquisitor-game of GW. But what kind of Eldar would get into that bulky armour? partido_risa.gif

One with high testosterone...oh wait there's no such thing...

Where is the sharp stick...?

hahahahahahahahahahahahaha true to that partido_risa.gif
