eLeia w/new eLuke or eHan build?

By Zordren, in Star Wars: Destiny

Finally got the new starters, and have been eager to build a team w/Leia using either the new Han or Luke.

I have always liked Leia very much - both in the films AND as a Destiny card - but as many have mentioned in the past, she just hasn’t had great pairings...

So I think (as others have said) that farmboy Luke is the stronger partner (please feel free to argue that!), so I’m going to start with that team.

So what should that team do? I’m thinking just a bunch of guns, and pack in all the shield/health buffs I can, and the best mitigation. Want to keep things on the cheaper side to be able to take advantage of Luke’s power action.

Aside from specific cards/decklists, any particular strategies/approaches/synergies that should be built into the deck?

Leia is sadly under the power curve so you play her because you like her not because she is good. Luke however loves resources, so chance cubes and logistics. All the normal red control cards. This can be a fast deck so controlling the battle field is an option.

With the rise of supports, I think Leia's ability could be very effective. Blue and Red also offers a lot of dice control. I too am crafting a Luke/Leia deck and will publish my results once it gets a few games.

This is exactly true. I can't think of a setup where you're not better off swapping her out for Poe2 if you want access to red.

I'm hoping we see a yellow version of her as Boushh soon. Or a red reprint in commando Endor gear.

I'm thinking a Boushh should be a 13/16 with good health and text that plays off her Thermal Detonator bluff -- Sabine would have been a good model, but now you don't want to just duplicate it. Perhaps Leia: Covert Infiltrator would activate for free when you play a (yellow?) weapon on her. Or you could remove her die (calling back to her Awakenings ability) to change one of her weapon dice to any side.

Endor Commando Leia should be a 11/14 Mill character. Similar to the Rebel Commando die, but with a 2 discard instead of one of the ranked sides and the special doesn't cost a resource and instead reads "Spot another character to remove a die".

Mill is a VERY real thing now with Legacy. The idea of discarding cards from your hand to re-roll becomes very hard (and down right foolish) against many of the decks you will soon see. Leia is a character that combats this. (Legacy has also introduced some supports and upgrades to provide re-rolls without discarding).

"Best" is always going to be subjective and local meta will have an influence. For those of you who find yourself in a mill heavy meta, remember our favorite Disney Princess.

why is leia good for a mill deck exactly? she has 3 damage faces.

I imagine if she was released now it would be a poweraction not remove a die. The removal of the die for a measily 2 die reroll is pretty painful at her price.

Stone37 means she's good against mill decks, because she gives guaranteed reroll options without using cards.

Thanks for the feedback! Hadn’t thought really about the battlefield control angle.

She certainly may be under the power curve, but I’ve had an eLeia since my first awakenings box and have been looking forward to making a team w/new Luke or Han...
