When I say "solo" I do not include playing two-handed; there is only one investigator.

I play on easy. When playing multiplayer I usually play on standard, but for solo it seems like there's a severe action disadvantage that other mechanics do not compensate for well, so standard is actually harder than advertised. Thus I scale back to easy.

Voted.

I usually play standard, but lately I’ve been mixing it up with a modified easy Chaos Bag switching a +1 token for a Skull token then I play with the Hard reference card.

I almost only play solo Standard, keeping the harder diificulties when playing with friends (for entertainment).

I've played almost exclusively solo. As such, I almost always play on Standard. Until recently, I tried out Norman Withers. With him being a new investigator with some unusual characteristics, I first played him on Easy in A Night of the Zealot campaign. I lost. When I next use him, I will go to Standard as I have a better handle on him.

Mostly hard, occasionally expert. Expert loses a lot of its charm when you're playing alone.

easy, mostly due to me being still new to this game. and my character still gets eaten at the end of the Night of the Zealot campaign. I still have fun though.

Standard or hard.. I love the story element and that includes not always 'winning' (whatever that means in this game).. In multi player I tailor to who I am playing with, some don't like the idea of 'failing' and enjoy the game less when they do so I stick to standard with them, others like me enjoy the story more and are see the drama of dragging one or more of your party out unconscious or gibbering as a more engaging and memorable experience... Both ways are good just depends on the mind set of the players I think.
