Valen Rudor and Counter?

By cynanbloodbane, in Star Wars: Armada Rules Questions

@Drasnighta So, because Valen Rudor's ability says "cannot", if he targets a Squadron with counter, does that Squadron get it's counter against him?

My RAI answer would be yes, but by RAW, is the answer no?

Reasons

The Enemy Squadron can Counter only if Valen Rudor is the only engaging Squadron.

If there is someone else along with Valen Rudor, then you cannot Counter , as Counter is an Attack .

Hooray, I'm a "Reason!" :D

Thanks Dras.

Which is why you can Jendon him to attack a squad and ignore counter twice

Add in Saber squadron and you have the perfect "f*** you Shara" package.

Wow, so Valen does have a purpose other than being another TIE with a scatter.

Valen is almost auto-include at 13 points.. the 3 blacks with swarm make him brutal to non-scatter aces (and good to force scatter on scatter aces)
