Tournament help

By Browncoat50, in X-Wing Squad Lists

Have an upcoming store tournament and would like tips on these builds if possible. Haven't had a chance to fly them together because life gets in the way.

The list I want to try:

Quickdraw: Debris Gambit, Comm Relay, title, LWF, FCS - 38

Blackout: PTL, Adv Sensors, AT, Advanced optics - 41

Countdown: title, twin ion engine MKII - 21

100 pts.

I know blackout isn't the most popular silencer, but I already have a ship with an ability triggered by taking damage.

My backup list would either be a first order swarm or a gunnoat with the inquisitor and Lt. Kestal rocking ion turrets and LWF.

Please let me know if this list seems DOA or viable. Also, any good Karsabi builds would be appreciated

I don't think I like Debris Gambit and Comm Relay, you are spending 5 points to have 1 evade banked, if you are close enough to an asteroid. I think Pattern Analyzer and a 1 or 2 point EPT would be better. I actually like Countdowns ability but I still think he wants LWF. Just my two cents.

Yeah I see what you mean about debris gambit, but it does allow for quickdraw to evade. That with LWF makes for a potentially longer lasting quickdraw. Or at least one more use of the ability to fire again.

Countdown with LWF never made sense to me since he can shrug off damage for stress. Then the ion engine opens up his dial to make him less predictable. LWF works if I'm getting attacked multiple times in a turn, but if that's the case, strikers never last long anyway

Keep in mind that Comm Relay prevents you from having more than 1 Evade token at any time, so Debris Gambit will only ever get you 1 Evade, even if you're around 2 obstacles.

What if I saved a point and went intenisty/advanced optics? Gives me a one point bid and I would only trigger it in the event of repositioning. And the banked focus could help me flip it same turn.

My experience with QD would tell me to spend 4 points on Expertise instead of Intensity/AO.

I don't dislike Debris Gambit per se, but I do dislike the Comm Relay. A pure-defense Quickdraw I've tried once was Debris Gambit, Advanced Optics, and Accuracy Corrector, which does about as much damage as FCS if (1) You're mostly outside Range 1 (2) You're saving your actions for defense. Once you get to R1 and start spending focus on offense rolls, FCS gets way better. In general, I've really been loving Accuracy Corrector on SFs.

A friend of mine who's been flying double-silencer has said he almost likes TPBO better than Kylo, except for the PS. When you're doing PTL/Advanced Sensors stuff, it gets a lot easier to line up obstructed shots.

Part of me says I'd love to get a bigger modification on Countdown (Lightweight Frame? Hull Upgrade? That said, TIE Mk.II certainly seems wise), or the title on TPBO. That could be accomplished by dropping down to the boring old VI/FCS/AdvO Quickdraw, but as I just said, that's kind of the boring build.

I firmly believe, for the same points, Expertise/Primed Thrusters would be WAY stronger for QD here.

That Blackout is fine, though I actually prefer the budget Blackout: Trick Shot, Collision Detector, PA, AT, Title. However, you could instead bridge the gap, which I like to do if I have the points: Trick Shot, Adv. Sensors, PA, AT, Title.

That means you could get a Pure Sabacc instead of Countdown, or LWF on Countdown.
