I finally listened to the podcast and was very interested in the controversial R2-D2 v BB-8 discussion.

I think on balance Farmer is correct that R2-D2 is objectively a superior choice in a Poe squad, but (and a big BUT here), what you guys missed discussing I thought was whether BB8 is still viable and given your squad goals, would it still work?

because a BB8 Poetensity took 1st at regionals, I think this definitely answers that question. BB8 CAN be good, and it can work.

Also, was glad to hear D and Farmer acknowledge that BB8 is more fun, and that in itself has inherent value.

BB-8 is terrific (and yes, far more fun). R2-D2 is superior, in a pragmatic sense, across more cases. I failed to bring this up on the episode, but the spate of BB-8 success (and increasing R2-D2 success) is really more accurately attributed to the buff Poe has received from Advanced Optics.
