Pix of AT-STs, SW:IA, Legion, Bandai, & WotC

Nice work, that’s pretty useful :)

The legion atst is the only one that brings the level of intimidation that the ones in the movies had! On a side note, I grew up calling these chicken walkers. I have seen other people online call them that as well. I learned that term from my dad who is not at all a Star wars fan. Was that just the thing that the theatre going crown of the era came up with?

I know they were called that in the old Battlefront games, but I think the term originates in some old EU books.

I honestly can not recall what I used to call them as a kid. (side note: I pronounced AT-ATs as "at at" and to be honest I still do) I recall hearing Chicken Walkers and know it was not uncommon, but now with AT-RTs and such having the same stance I can see that confusing new fans.

I remember hearing them called that in a behind the scenes special for ESB by the special effects guys IIRC. Also during the making of Star Wars before the ships had official names they were referred to as the one with the x wings, the y one, and the one that looked like a bow tie.

As I understand it, that's what the FX team (and Lucas) called them before they had an official name. It stuck for a while.

Looks like the (relatively) inexpensive Bandai iteration will be the perfect size to chop up for terrain/objective markers.
