Organized Play

It would be great if there was organized play for Genesys.

Could you elaborate on what you mean by this.

I believe he means a Genesys equivalent of Adventurer's League or Pathfinder Society, where you can play a series of weekly one-shots at your FLGS. This would indeed be fun, but the problem I have with it is that Genesys is a Generic RPG. It'd basically have to wait until Terrinoth dropped, and even then, that's competing with D&D AND PF, no game store is going to go against both of those sponsors. A Netrunner thing would be better.

Trying to make the highly prescriptive design of D&D's organised play modules work with narrative dice sounds like a good way of forcing a poor game designer into therapy :P

Oh, Indeed. You'd have a better time organizing Competitive Fiasco tournaments. A better idea would be to have an open-ended module with five or six suggested endings(For unimaginative GMs) but essentially leave it open-ended. You could have some fun with that, like an "Escape the Maze/Room" Module with a few combat encounters, or a nice "Everybody dies one by one" horror survival module where the goal isn't to win, it's to be the last man standing after the monster attacks.

I spoke to a local game store about organized play and they informed me there were many people signing up as players for organized games but few GMs to run the games. Basically because of the GM shortage the store supported any game that had an organized play that a GM was willing to run.

I do agree that Genesys needs to be fleshed out more with specific game worlds for organized play to work with it.
