Why Long range scaners with Miranda??

By Nogan, in X-Wing

Hello pilot friends,

Rookie question on here, since Adv Slam nerf i have seen lots of players using LRS on Miranda, and i cant figure out why, mabye im not seeing something, some pilots are using her with misiles or torpedos, so LRS are a understable option here, but a lot of players are using it with no missiles/torpedos thats what i dont understand.

Why use LRS with Miranda if you are not using ordenance??

Spain national champion and so many players play under this circunstances so, definetly this combo works in a way i cant understand, if you can help me figure out how i will apreciate it a lot

Thanks!

It allows you to enter the fight with double mods. With ASlam you only get tl or focus, and no shot if you're triggering it

Well, it costs nothing and gives you the eqvivalent of one free action early. It might also come in handy later, as Miranda is not unlikely to have Slamed away from a bad engagement. Might as well pick up a free TL on the way back to the frey. And, while at r1-2 of here opponents, she will probably opt for focus anyway.

More mods = more better.

This is pretty much it, double mods on the opening engage, not only that but because the k wing has no 1 hard or k turn, you can occasionally drift out of the fight, long range scanners lets you come back in with that banked target lock.

Im starting to see the main idea of this combo

Thank you for your responses
