About to start Jabbas Realm, The mighty Jabba needs your help

By totalnoob, in Imperial Assault Campaign

This will be our fourth campaign, But I am looking for some advice. Here is what I know.

3 heroes Vinto, Onar, Shyla

my IP deck - Nemeses

Villians I am considering:

Bossk - I don’t have Bespin, so I have never been able to use him in the campaign. Cost seems reasonable, and I can make cool Bossk noises when activating him. Seems like a win :)

BT-1 - haven’t used him in campaign mode yet either, decent cost and has lost of traits which could mesh with nemeses deck

I also own Greedo, Inquisitor, Vader,Dengar, Terro, IG 88, and Emporer (but no HotE)

would also LOVE to hear some thoughts on the best nemeses deck build as well. As well as open group figures that work well against these heroes.

Long live the Empire!!

I got Bossk with my Nemesis deck (also in JR) and he's been fantastic so far. Hits really hard for the few threat you have to spend on him.

BT is pretty cool, so is the GI. BT might give you something to play with before you can afford Bossk, but the GI might have more viability later in the campaign.

I think I am going to bring these Agenda sets which would still give the possibility of earning Greedo and Vader

1 Greedo

2 Imperial Industry

3 imperial discipline

4 agents of the empire

5 Vader as you wish

6 for the right price

Had also considered including Dengars set as well as Inquisitor. Although I used them both last campaign,so I was also giving some weight to using different characters. But if people think GI and Dengar are much stronger and should use their sets or use them for my villains, I would love to hear some thoughts on it.

I'd avoid Greedo for this. Consider that you're getting threat cost reduction anyway, so once you hit anything really past threat level 4, you may as well have gotten somebody better than Greedo. For example, in the finale you can spend 1 threat to bring in Greedo, or 2 to bring in Dengar. Dengar is definitely the better choice there.

With Shyla's crazy ability to cleave, and Vinto's ability to easily pick off the weaker/wounded units, I would recomend open groups with single, stronger figures, spaced out as much as possible on the map. Nemesis should do pretty well against them. I would suggest starting with Bossk or Dengar for the fringe, but with Onar able to ignore harmful conditions, that really limits Dengar's usefullness. I would also suggest using the Emperor. He would combo well with other villains because he could make them attack an aditional time.

As I’m putting the agenda deck together, one fun exercise would be to put together the best 18 cards you could (vs taking 6 sets of 3). Many of the cards, even in a good set I want to take -aren’t great. If only....... :)

That would be fun, but it's definitely part of the reason why the game is designed the way that it is.

I'm about to start a campaign with the Nemeses deck as well, and I'm looking at using Bossk and BT-1 as my villains. I've looked at 0-0-0 too, since his low cost would allow me to run him more consistently and I like his disruptive capabilities, but I'm worried that he just won't be durable enough to get into close range by mid-campaign. BT seems a tad more reliable, and has better traits.

There'll be a big part of the campaign where you'll basically be paying either 1 threat for 0-0-0 or two threat for BT-1.

In my experience, BT is worth the extra single threat.

But when you get that sweet Invasive Procedure off with 0-0-0 as well as Unnerving to two or three heroes it's so enjoyable!

Definitely- it can be pretty tough to pull off, though.

Bump should have done a forum search first this thread is good. What builds did you guys end up going with nemesis?

I play pretty loose with my rebels, I want them to win the majority of the games but I still like it to be close. They are 2-0 with the last game coming down to the last roll for obi-wan.

I picked bt 1 and greedo to start but i peppered them with greedo last campaign so we've agreed for me to Mulligan that pick if I want to. I was thinking I might take maul to have an epic showdown between him and obi wan in future missions.

I also think I'll build my agenda deck with the possibility of buying bossk and the inquisitor possibly. I avoided taking terro because he already shows up so much in the campaign. But now part of me wants to buy bt-1s mission just to get 0-0-0 as well :)

Maul might be a fun counterpoint to Obi-wan, but I'm not sure how strong he would be. Have you considered trying Bossk as a nemesis villain? He's a bit pricey, but has some strong traits for Inspirational. Mid-campaign, he could definitely be a force to be reckoned with. I still think the most sound advice is to keep one super cheap Nemesis hero (Greedo is an obvious contender, but I think 0-0-0 is compelling too), and then another one who can threaten the heroes late game. By the end of the campaign the heroes will likely be able to delete anyone you throw at them, unfortunately -- but the threat of a villain might be enough to slow them down.

I ended up going with BT and Bossk. We have only played two missions thus far with one win for each side. I think Ringleader will be very strong on Bossk, getting extra movement and having +3 damage before any dice are rolled will be nice.

How strong is Punishing Force? It seems insane to have every unit be able to reroll on attacks. Deciding if I should get that first, or just grab Ringleader now.

I love Punishing Force . And the movement points from Prepare the Ambush allows great things.
