Every unit already has Arsenal 1, going by how that keyword works. To get that effect, Weiss would need to lose the Arsenal keyword and gain something like "When you make an attack action, exhaust this card to fire one additional weapon."

I don't think this is true. Having Arsenal 1 would play the same as being a normal unit until something were to give you more Arsenal. So if you already had Arsenal 1 and Weiss gave you Arsenal 2, you'd end up with Arsenal 3.

pretty sure you'll never see arsenal 1 on any card, because that works as a normal game state. but as mentioned above it doesn't automatically give the arsenal 1 keyword, because that makes any card that give a +1 additive arguably useless/confusing in some situations because of how keywords and the text are written, but would also take up way too much card real estate if they put it on everything as should happen if it were true.

It may feel a bit clunky, but in effect it makes the rule easier to read with minimal text floating around...... which is something that's good given it may get complicated once we get several +/- effects going into play down the line.

Once we get rule questions one of the 1st lines that will start coming out is

"read the card, do what the card says, don't do what the card doesn't say"

This I know. I just don't think we'll ever see Arsenal 1. By itself, it's useless. It would really limit Weiss' utility. He'd be useless in a vehicle that didn't already have Arsenal (maybe a repulsor tank?), instead of improving it and allowing it to have Arsenal 2 when he's driving.

It may happen, but I just don't see it happening.

I just realized that Weiss is already limited in that the Arsenal 2 is granted by exhausting him (Which I'm not sure anyone has mentioned?). Therefore, the decked out AT-ST is only getting to fire every weapon every turn by taking the Refresh action and then the Attack action...

Which doesn't mean jack to the triple mortar atst (if it's allowed). It would rather sit as far back in a corner as it can with it's front arc facing the objectives

I don't know why anyone thinks multiple of the same upgrade are going to be allowed. For one thing, it seems they are trying to allow players to represent every weapon option on the models. For another thing, the only instance (that I know of) in a miniature FFG game that allows that is the typically one-shot missiles/bombs in X-Wing. Does Runewars allow such a thing? FFG (understandably) seems to like reskining and slightly modify existing rulesets rather than start from scratch when possible.

Till they say otherwise......assume the worst. You don't get dissapointed that way, even if i think (and hope) you're right.

Even better (or worse), Weiss is also an action so you get Arsenal 4 every 2 turns.

1. Weiss, attack

2. Refresh Weiss, [some other action]

3. Weiss, attack

4. Refresh, [some other action]

and so on...

I am wondering what that symbol is, it may just be "exhaust this card to gain this benefit," which would allow future cards to have multiple options, and even non-exhaust benefits as well as ones that require exhaustion. If it takes an action, that would also make Wedge significantly worse...

I think you’re right, actually. Looking through a few cards, I see 2 different arrow icons. The other one is likely the “action” icon, hehe.

So an AT-ST could indeed sit in the corner and shoot all game. Not necessarily the best use, but it can!

Well, right up until it takes an Ion token somehow :P.

The double arrow is a free action, as opposed to single arrow action upgrades (see saber throw)

So far all free actions in upgrades have been accompanied by the exhaust arrow.
