The math is pretty easy tbh.

Red Dice have 6/8 chance of a hit or crit

Black have 4/8

White have 2/8

Youu really, really want to be aiming or have other buffs which is why I did point out that the maths would change then.

Honestly...it’s a superb tanks, a great suppression piece, but it’s not going to lay waste to vast swathes of stuff. It’ll kill things consistently but not spectacularly.

Its actually more worth shooting at higher value targets tbh to get the points back from it, but Rebel Troopers are an easy baseline target unit.

Do all dice have 1 crit on them?

yes

Yep. Dice facings are here;

http://starwarslegion.wikia.com/wiki/Rules

Crits don’t do much except against Armour/cover afaik though, although I could very easily be wrong on that.

Crits can't be cancelled by cover or dodge tokens

Does this mean Veers/Snowtroopers launching at the same time, without Rebel equivalents?

Or are they counting the dice/tool packs as expansions?

Unless the product page is badly mistaken they are counting the dice/tools. Veers and snowtroopers are still at the printers

That’s the one. I knew they didn’t change the baseline “target in the open” maths, and couldn’t be bothered to work out the rest :D

That doesn't mean they can't delay the release of everything until Veers and Snowtroopers ship. Shipping product as it is finished means that the distributors eat the storage costs instead of FFG, so there would be a benefit to it. I'm hoping it was just a case of inconsistent language.

Apparently some Aus retailers already have stock, i seriously doubt they are going to make that happen.

AH I had only heard the distributors had product, not that it had been sent out to retailers. That's what I get for over analyzing everything. :D

It could still be the case, all we have on my point is a photo and someone's word on the internet. That said, ffg have never held up something like that before. Heck i think can cite cases where they haven't even waited for worldwide stock

Fair enough. If it has hit retailers though it would be more difficult to count on them holding it in the back. For instance, my FLGS doesn't have a huge area for back stock, so anything they have to hold back is taking the space of extra merchandise they CAN sell for the purposes of restocking shelves. Which leads to a strong temptation to sell the product early.

But that is supposing the decision to delay is theirs to make. This IS after all a licensed product, so they could in theory be told they have to delay the official release until X condition is met.

Well I'll admit you may not be killing things every round, but I still think mounting weapons on an Armored frame is better than getting another 4 white dice Stormtroopers.

But this might be a game like Armada where you are scraping to get another 3 or 4 points :D

Yeah, tbh it’s really hard to say just how tough it’ll be to perfect your lists right now. It always starts off pretty easy with the core and wave 1, then eventually you end up desperately scraping the barrel for that 1last point :D

Dunno if i can see a fully loaded weiss mobile being worth it (250 points!), especially if you use vader as a commander It's an awful lot to commit to 2 models. That said, every turn you use weiss you have the potential to break 1-2 units with suppression, which lets be honest is pretty thematic for a walker.......

Can see all 3 weapons getting use though (the 88 in armor heavy, the launcher for a troop basher and the mortar for someone building around suppression tactics) which is a good sign.

Dunno about that, i have to learn more about how they work but i'm coming around to the idea of stormies + grenades, especially on snowtroopers ( if the grenade damage multiplies by the number of troops in squad). Close range, but damage wise you're going to be wanting to try and get them in close combat anyway unless they are carrying a launcher/ion heavy.

Veers and the snow troopers aren’t part of the launch. They will be released in the spring I assume.

Dice packs and range rulers must be the 5th and 6th? Otherwise its Veers and Snowtroopers, and they will just be part of launch late? Haha. Maybe they are looking at launch as a one or two month roll-out around the world. I don't know.

Either way, I'm dying to see the Rebel expansions - and I say that as an Imperial player. One possibility is FFG isn't going the "Wave" route and is just going to release things as they complete them, which may explain why we are getting Veers and Snowtroopers before any Rebel expansions.

Killing units is all well and good, but objectives will win you games. An extra unit of Stormtroopers is another unit leader for claiming objectives. My experience in other miniatures games if you invest too heavily in a single model, itgives your opponent a single target they need to make combat ineffective before you are at a big points disadvantage.

If you kill the troops that can claim objectives, then you can claim the objectives.

1. Rebel Troopers
2. At-RT
3. Snowspeeder

4.StormTroopers
5.Speeder bikes
6. AT-ST

The article stated 6 expansions in addition to Airspeeder and AT-ST, for a total of 8 Expansions. Probably a typo of some sort.

Not if you need troops to claim the objectives and they've killed the three units you brought.

Which is my whole issue with the atst's cost, it really doesn't leave you a lot for objective takers........

AT-ST - 250
Vader - 200 + 30/40 points upgrades
6 Stormtroopers + Extra mini - 6(40+10) = 300

It's totally viable to do what I'm saying. Take Veers if you want other things, but this currently gives you 8 units to control.

No idea if this is good or not, but it gives you a ton of dice to throw.
