Date night! Mrs. Rick wants to play X-Wing! So far she has been wiping the floor with me, but tonight I think I'll win! She's been flying Poe/Dash and 2 HLC GUNBOATS with Quickdraw, while I've been messing around with Poe/Fenn/Wookie and TimeWalk Asajj. But tonight I'm going to throw a ton of Harpoons at her and see how she likes it!

Depends on how much stock you put into a reposition at lower PS than her ships. I would on higher PS, and might on these guys, but I don't know if you'll find them in arc as often as you'd like.

I think I'm going to stick with PRS. I'm not going to be arc-dodging anything and I'm not going to be higher PS than anything.

I hate to break it to you, but your total for Captain Jostero may be off by 1 point. I'm getting a total of 32 points for the setup described using the UK-Squadron builder.

I'd stick with PRS, but I'd probably change up Glitterstim or Deadeye.

If you shoot your harpoons with Deadeye, you won't get any offensive use out of Glitterstim. If you shoot your Harpoons with a target lock, you can use Glitterstim, but you don't make use of Deadeye. It feels redundant to me. Redundancy is another word for consistency, but I prefer to diversify threats and defenses.

I'd use either VI and Glitterstim (less favorite version, I don't think PS is high enough to support VI on a Kihraxz), or Deadeye and Ion Dischargers. That'd allow you to get more mileage out of PRS.

If I really wanted Vectored Thrusters, I'd drop Hull Upgrade. HU is probably fine, tho.

Consider Munitions Failsafe over Guidance Chips (or Hull Upgrade for that matter)? Having low-risk shots on your K-fighters might be handy. Not sure if it's worth it, but just something to think about.

+1 ion dischargers with PRS. So much fun, and on Vaksai’s you’re only paying 2 points total for them.

I tend to be a glutton for punishment and have flown these enough to know you have to have Glitterstim and Hull Upgrade! I've never tried PRS on them though. Guidance Chips are AWESOME on these, because it lets you turn that die to a CRIT instead of just a normal hit - and that's just dandy with Harpoons.

Wow! We played three complete games of X-Wing over the weekend and several partial games! That's about a month's worth for us. On Friday night we played two:

Game One: We played the above lists, and she BARELY beat me on points. I couldn't manage to take out Poe, but I eventually got Dash. She managed to kill my Scurrg and one K-Fighter.

Game Two: She got reckted. Poe wound up in a bad spot. I got the TS + Bomblet + Jostero Harpoon off on him (I warned her!) and it was great. I still lost Sol Sixxa because one green die against Dash really hurts.

At this point I realized the Scurrg is really fun, but I'll probably not take it to a tournament because it just feels like it has a death timer on it with one green die. So I came up with this Saturday night:

She played Poe/Dash again and she really didn't know what to do with this. She tried to play fancy and just got rekt. She said she really likes Poe, but that it's not her playstyle and she decidedly called herself "A GUNBOAT Girl" because she likes tossing lots of red dice.

On Sunday we played a few partial games, and it was her idea to play. While she was playing X-Wing with me she was also making me bacon and eggs for breakfast, so she may have been a little distracted. She played the two HLC Crack GUNBOATS with Quickdraw against my above list. In our household meta, that is the top list. She is still really new to the game and wants to get gud at SLAMing, so we mostly played just a few turns to see what would happen in few different situations. I just moved in formation and she tried flanking and everything but while she got better every time she still wound up in a bad spot. She was starting to come down with a cold so we called it quits, and just talked about different scenarios. I think that head-to-head her best bet is to just straight up joust the above list and wipe Fenn out (if possible).

Anyways, so after beating me about 6 games in a row with HLC Boats/Quickdraw and Poe/Dash, Mrs. Rick finally lost a few.

Well, five - they were watching cartoons on Saturday and Sunday. Friday night was date night.

DATE NIGHT. She chose to play TWO GAMES of X-Wing on DATE NIGHT.

Also, she asked me to leave the room on Saturday so she could practice GUNBOAT maneuvers. Six months ago she HATED this game!

Sounds like the perfect weekend!

I always feel bad playing X-Wing with my girlfriend. I just don't want (or can't?) beat her. We started playing Arkham Horror LCG together, since it is cooperative, and having a blast!

Mrs. Rick has recently informed me that she is not getting enough GUNBOAT. She now wants three GUNBOATS and Quickdraw.

I'll fly that Norra, Fenn, Bandit, Rex list , and the next list she flies is this:

Okay, if anyone is following this she did real good with those boats. Man, those things are scary.

She alphaed the Bandit off first round and I did a little damage to one of the boats. One boat got hung up in the debris and Norra took it out. Then she made Fenn the next target priority and Norra hammered another boat.

Then Norra had to turn around and so did her squad. She sniped and finished off Fenn from range three. Her Norrra swung around, ready to finished off her 2 hull remaining boat.

Next round, it SLAMs into a perfect position to avoid both of Norra's arcs, even if she boosts. Norra boosts to range one of the other boat to avoid a Harpoon. Rex makes a desperate shot at the wounded GUNBOAT with 2 hull.

Hit+Hit.

She rolls all blanks, dead boat.

I win 44 to 43.

I think a lot of people would enjoy something different that whats going around

I don't no about the Ricks, but streaming the games with my wife would feel awful lot like catering to a voyeuristic audience. Which is kind of odd, because in general I am a fan of streaming games, but I guess one thing are tournament games and it's different with private games with private talk at home.

And making it a proper streaming show sounds like lots of work and takes the private fun out of it. (not that creating a show can't be fun)

Find something that she wants YOU to change, then work on it. Then she might be willing to play X-Wing with you. Worked for me.

I don't know about streaming, but I could do batreps with pics. I don't have the tech or time to do streams. Batreps might be good for us to because then people can pick us apart and we can get better.
