Happy Friday

By Cubanboy, in X-Wing

Happy Friday, Sorry this is not the normal time but Friday on Friday for most people is great.

I have a cold so I wanted to ask when you feel like chopping off your nose what games to you like to play?

Back to sleep I go.

Well it depends: If you are dripping out of your nose, don't play X-wing (poor miniatures). I would go with SWBF2 (2005) if I were you ;)

Civilization 2 or Baldurs Gate. Turn based is by far the best game mechanic when you are smashed.

I like me some Kerbal space program when I'm bedbound

None. I sleep. Maybe watch a movie. But I usually have no energy for brain power and games.

Happy Friday and get well soon, CB.

KOTOR is my go to sick game

It absolutely is a happy Friday!

I played X-Wing last night and it was great.

Has the game ever been more fun than it is right now?? So much different stuff that kinda works maybe??

If there is anyone who hasnt put a Tie FO with Advanced Optics on the table yet....go try it, basically all of them are fantastic for the points.

Wooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo X-Wing.

I play Space Agency.

world of warcarft or KOTOR. I just kick up the free play "demo" stuff and play a class I haven't tried before.

I don't really do video games anymore, so if I was sick I'd be watching movies.

X-wing has replaced my video game addiction, but playing some good old Mega Man 2 for 3 for the NES is my comfort food.

Me too! I find working on home-brewed scenarios and painting XWM ships and terrain more satisfying than burning through video game after video game these days. It feels more like a hobby and less like fleeting entertainment. Plus, the servers never go down on minis.

Zelda Breath of the Wild is nice if you just want to walk around, climb cliffs, go fishing, or ride a horse.

Haven't done it for a while, but I found the Myst games good for when you're sick.

Happy Friday CB! Sorry to hear you're under the weather.

My go to for head colds is a warm fleece, the reciiner, hot tea and my favorite movies. Zulu, HFRO, and Sahara with Bogart.

Don't forget the tissues and a trash bag.

If you’re fighting a cold get some vitamin C. Take mega doses, like 10+ grams a day in powdered form. Takes care of my colds in about 1 day.

Be careful of the side effects! Too much can be a moving experience!

Never had an issue. Linus Pauling was working on curing cancer with vitamin C.

Skyrim has held on as my go-to game when I want (and have time for) something more than just fighting games. Like @Boba Rick I don't game much anymore though; kids and family stuff makes it really hard to find the time. At least with X-Wing I'm either out of the house or very visibly occupied with something other than just sitting at the computer.

Pauling was the guy who recommended mega doses of C. IIRC, he recommended taking it to the point where you had a "problem" then backing it down a bit.

I usually take 1000mg daily and haven't had a serious cold in decades. If I felt a cold trying to get a hold I'd just up the dose by another 1000mg or so. Works like a charm.

I don’t take it daily because I don’t want to develop an immunity, or God forbid, an allergy to it. But whatever works for your body is fine. The point is that ascorbic acid is TLT bomblet Nym of the vitamin world.
