Fenn Rau Tokens Needed

By Boba Rick, in X-Wing

We need a customer Fenn Rau token now!

Besides the oh-so-satisfying feeling of putting a token by your opponent's ship, there is an actual practical application of a Fenn Rau token!

Let's say Quickdraw goes to shoot - Fenn says "Nerf!" and puts a token down. Quickdraw is nerfed for that shot... AND he is also nerfed for the additional shot that happens when he loses a shield! Two for one! That, by the way, is one of the best uses of Fenn's ability.

Hey, come to think of it, can Fenn nerf Captain Jostero in the activation phase if Jostero shoots because you hit a rock or a bomb? Or is it only in the combat phase? I think it says when the opponent's ship is "activating". What does that mean, specifically?

We also need a Captain Jostero token too so we don't accidentally use him more than once in a round.

Yes, any ability that says "once per round" needs a token.

Moar tokens plz.

Oh boy such a good ability especially at ps 11. I guess that would work on a double tapping ghost or Dengar too.

Use a destiny shield token, Mandalorian helmet. It's even blue and white.

Fenn Rau's card text limits his ability to triggering in the Combat Phase:

"When an enemy shop inside your firing arc at Range 1-3 becomes the active ship during the Combat phase , if you are not stressed, you ay receive 1 stress token. If you do, that ship cannot spend tokens to modify its dice when attacking this round."

(emphasis mine)

So attacks during the activation phase would be exempt.

One thing that I'm not clear on is whether a ship performing an attack in the Combat Phase as a result of a triggered ability (Dengar, Jostero, Resistance Chewbacca, Quickdraw) is an Active Ship at the time of that attack? The Rules Reference mentions that "Each ship becomes the active ship only once during [the Combat Phase]." If not, then attacks made prior to becoming active couldn't be affected by Fenn Rau's ability.

Nice pick-up!

So, in those situations, the Fenn player would want Dengar/QD to take their normal attack before getting a revenge attack opportunity (if they suspected such an opportunity would arise).

What happens when this said QuickDraw is running the EPT Expertise???

I can imagine it being a sad game for rebel fenn...

... unless there was some way to stress your opponent at high ps??? Hmm r3-a2 fenn?

I'm pretty sure a ship only becomes "the active ship" during it's normal activation. I think abilities do not make a ship active.

If you stress yourself with r3a2 then you cant use Fenns ability, lol. FFG is capable of catching some cheese, but others slip through.

I got a token that looks like a Mandalorian Helmet along with some other useful ones like 3P0 and Palp from CurledPawCreatives a while back. Been using it as a reminder for active Glitterstim, but now, I think it might have a better use. Still haven't played RebelRau, but I'm looking forward to it.

Tactician would probably work better in this case.

I didn’t even realize that... hmm smart Ffg. maybe an inspiring recruit? That’s getting too far away maybe, there’s definitely better 3 point options.

Best option would be putting r3-a2 Wes alongside I think
