Need help with paint choices to make my Rebel forces into Twilight Company

By Starrapter, in Star Wars: Legion

Hi everyone. I haven't played any tabletop games for over 10 years, but I'm excited to play Legion. I want to model my Rebels after the troopers featured in the novel Battlefront: Twlight Company. I would like some help for how to choose paints for the color scheme. Is anyone else thinking of doing Twilight Company? Thanks for the help!

I see Alexander Freed wrote that, and I'm a huge fan of his Star Wars stuff, especially the Agent story in The Old Republic. I suppose this is a decent book and not just a quick tie-in?

The citadel paint app has a colour scanner. If you have any better pictures / art perhaps you can scan the picture and it will tell you what colours you need.

I like the rebel colour scheme btw. I might steal it if you don't mind.

that isn't the normal scheme of the company.

loved the book

@TirionWhat is the normal color scheme of the company than? The book was one of the better ones in the new canon so far.

I didn't realize that Freed did the Agent Story in The Old Republic. That was one of the better stories in the game. It is a very decent book. I'd recommend it. There hasn't been any other book in canon that has described battle quite like this one!

@yellowSkin I didn't know that existed. That sounds VERY helpful. Unfortunately, the cover of the book is the only photo reference to Twilight Company.

Go ahead, they're awesome!

Spoiler warning

That is a hoth uniform. Outside if the main character no one else was there. That isn't what they were on the other missions. Unless the book specifically describes their uniform I have no idea.

Yes !! Someone else who wants to paint Rebels as Twilight Company ! This was my plan from the get go and I'm really excited. So, from what I can tell, is that Twilight Company uses grays, tans, and a green/tan camo. In one of the Star Wars Insider magazines, there was a short story that focused on Brand ( A character in the story) and it showed a piece of artwork showcasing Brand and some twilight company rebels. ( I'll tryin include the picture if I can) Like Tirion said, the Hoth Rebel get up isn't the normal attire, however, being Rebels, they have no official attire, so there is some leeway in how you wanna paint them. Also, as I was surfing Wookipeidia, I stumbled across that the main dude on the front is not Namir ( again character from the book) but Howl the Captain. So for my first squad, I'm gonna paint the Commander dude after him, so black beard, dark skin. Also, I do believe there is one female in the Rebel Legion squad, so I'm gonna paint her after Brand, Red coat, dark skin. Anyway, I hope I offered some help, I will tryin add the picture though. And yes ! Twilight Company is hands down my favorite Canon Novel so far !

@RogueLeader0234 - cool! You can be the background expert!

From my, limited, experience painting WH40K. I believe that simple colour scheme's will look the very best.

Did some googling (sorry not that good into the SW background), and the simplicity of the colour scheme of the uniforms in the picture is something I will follow. Just not yet very convinced of the colours.

@RogueLeader0234 It's weird how Namir isn't actually on the cover of the novel. I feel like Battlefront: Twilight Company is very underated. It is also one of my favorite novels of the canon. Thanks for the additional photos from Insider! It's quite hard to get references of these guys.

Here is a more close up look at them. Notice the camo on the Mirlians vest and the chest plate on Brand front and center. Ya, yellowSkin, keepin it simple is the best way. I think I'm gonna skip the camo and just use Tans, grays, and greens, although Sorastro made camo look so easy and awesome !! I am also thinkin of doing a Alliance Fisheye Company/ Sea Commando paint scheme.

I'm also really tempted to do a Sullust Rebel scheme

@RogueLeader0234 - I think that colour scheme would look awesome on models too.

My rebels will be rocking rogue one colors as modeled by private basteren:

Blue jackets, khaki pants, khaki hat and black helmet thingy.

Im gunna do some urban camo like sorastro’s blue one, but also a grey/black/white urban camo

I'm gonna do exactly as sorastro instructs other wise it'll be a hot mess

If binoculars are used to allow two-eyed creatures to see far away, do quadnoculars do the same for people with glasses?
