Any double Silencer experience?

Looking at playing 2 Silencers for a mono ship event. Anyone tried this? Any recommendations? Here’s what I was thinking

seems like a heavy bid, but I think I’m okay with it. I know I’ll be flying uphill against mono GUNs and Ks, but I’m good with that... just wanting to make this squadron as optimal as possible

I could be wrong, but doesn't blackout want trick shot to add reds? Other than that it looks good.

Depends how much you're trying to make him a gimmick or just an all-round good ship.

In a two ship build, I'd put PTL on Blackout also. You'll need all the power you can get.

Very different to what he's posted up top.

I have seen two of those Silencers paired with Vessery as an option that intrigued me. It's interesting - a lot like Triple Defenders except you've traded the free Evade token for FCS/Autothrusters. More aggressive, less tanky. Probably a ton of fun to fly though.

Yeah, i know is not top tier ;)

But seems interesting, as you still have some dice mods, to allow you take a reposition action.

It's a pity the ship is 30€ each (and the model is a bit oversized) or i will try it sometime.

As for OP list, i will go for something like this... though i'm not comfortable with this kind of bids.

I've played Blackout with Kylo and a list with two FO Test Pilots with an amazing arc-dodging build. It's very maneuverable, but melts when faced with Harpoons or a couple of cannons. I prefer my Gunboats over anything now, but the Silencers are still a lot of fun.

thats intriguing... hadn’t considered a three ship Silencer build. Hmm. It’d require me to go get a third... but if I go that route, I feel like just going triple intensity x7s would be a better anti Gunboat route... need to sit down and theory craft/test run that a bit.

As to PTL or Trickshot on Blackout, I’m not saying they’re bad, but I’m devaluing my AS with those. The point it to let other moves happen and then use AS to setup an advantageous high PS shot or remove an active firing arc from my opponent. Anything that lowers my PS (not taking VI) hobbles that. I can’t see that being the better move. I don’t want 7s on up moving after half my list.

Edit: my other thought is to go Soontir and Royals and just lol at Gunboats

The second one doesn't really make it any quieter, and the extra weight totally spoils your aim.

A friend my mine flies this some, only he included the Academy Pilot. He always says "The Academy is the real MVP of the list." Half in jest, half in truth.

No thanks, two of those is flying way to close to the sun for me!

I have played against a Quickdraw plus 2 silencer list and got my butt handed to me.

He put Wired and Primed Thrusters on his Silencers and took all debris fields. Allowed him to hug/fly thru the debris and still have mods. He had Autothrusters too I think. Seemed like a good idea for trying out on Blackout.

My thought was that on a mono ship tournament you will be facing something like 2 Shadowcasters, 3 toiletseats, or 3 defenders, like you suggested. I think only 2 silencers will have some problems as they cannot turtle up like Soontir, i mean they are not ultra defensive ships, or point fortress.

Having 3 of them gives you at least the same amount of health as 3 Defenders, some economy action, more arcdogding capabilities, and more resilience to turrets than Defenders.

The list also allows some retouching to upgrade one to the PS6 with EPT, and give him PTL to arcdogde those pesky gunboats.

Yup. As academy pilots are disposable, you play them more relaxed, and end doing really well.

But in the case of OP, it's a mono ship tourney, so AP are allowed on a Silencer list.

add an academy tie and still have a nice 2 point bid.

I totally agree with you, if you only have 2 ships to begin with, prepare them to fight not to be special...

Any way, did anyone fly Kylo as he was first described? I'd like to know if he is good enough that way..

Just finished our little mono tourney. 7 players

Me, Starvipers, Rhos, Firesprays, X1, SFs, T70s

played 4 rounds... didn’t play the x1s, or T70s. Rhos almost killed Blackout, but VI saved me in SFs battle... almost lost Blackout there too.

Won a starter set and store credit (grabbed a second HWK and a second K-Wing).
