Star Wars: The Card Game - is now done and dusted

DSII was my favorite by far. I pulled two UR Luke Skywalker, Jedi Knight. Had to eventually buy the emperor though, but it completed the set.

Premiere / NH / Hoth restricted tournaments were also fun.

Yeah. I liked the restricted formats, as the decks get more thematic at that point. I did quit just before DSII came out (or was it just after? I don't remember), so there was that.

Does IA skirmish still have a place now that Legion is coming out?

That's probably why it's doomed.

Now that I'm an adult with a disposable income I'd happily pour money into a swccg decipher revival. The force generation mechanic is the most ingenious thematic resource mechanic I've ever seen.

I was a volunteer for Decipher for several years. Some of the most fun times I've ever had as a gamer! I still have my Gold Squadron bag....and polo shirt too.

And as I look over at my binders of cards.......and the factory set (that was at the time only given out to Lucasfilm and Decipher execs).....and my Ultra Pro deck bag which has 3 sets of decks in it.....all I have to say to FFG is this (which most of you have echoed):

DO IT. PLEASE. Then shut up and take my money!

My love, absolute love, of the Decipher game, was the reason I never bothered with the LCG. When I first saw it in my FLGS, I was hopeful that it was FFG doing Decipher as an LCG, but those hopes were instantly dashed.

The other thing with restricted formats is you get a lot less of "the game's over before we've even shuffled." The games themselves are usually more even and thus more interesting.

In case you weren't aware. I still have all my cards for it too.

Quite aware - but thanks!

11k? Seems legit lol.

Maybe when I get my quarterly bonus

I think he's a little out there with that but he does seem to be accepting offers. It looks more like just feeling the thing out given the buzz at the moment from the new cinematic travesty film. It is everything in one place and appears to be in very good condition. He probably doesn't want to sell it or have to sell it but for the right offer...

Searching for some sold listings those Coruscant boxes fetch in the seven hundred range on their own. So do the Ref. II and III boxes. There's three thousand in straight retail originally there easy.

Yeah, Theed Coruscant and Ref III in particular are very rare.

DS II Boxes are getting up there.

I hate when people tell me they still have some in storage and it turns out to be Cloud City lol.

Is Cloud City rare? I remember buying quite a few packs of it when I was a kid.

I remember seeing a ton of these back in the day. I’m guessing it was an over-produced set.

Figure most boxes of SWCCG cards are in the triple digits in price.

Except for cloud city. Forever around $70, even nearly 20 years later.

I have several sets of decks for this game waiting for my kid to be old enough to play them.

Paired, themed decks were really the best way to play it.

Indeed. My oldest is 6.5. A couple more years and I can teach them. I've already introduced them to some basic Armada rules.

Seeing all those boxes made me drool. Especially those Japanese boxes! Back in the day when I got boxes of Reflections 2, I pulled a Japanese Premier Darth Vader. Last time I looked, that card alone hit $200+ (yeah, I darn near passed out when I saw that!)

This thread has had me looking thru my bindered sets (Premier thru DS II; Endor and DS II not complete, but darn close), and thru my decks.......fun times!

Now that I think about it, that's actually how I mostly built decks back in the day. Decks that I made to be competitive, sure, but decks that were just a blast to play against each other.

They will always have FFG Interactive to resurrect such games. Perhaps some of your favorite card games will show up in digital format someday? Personally I'd love to have Destiny available in digital format.

I would like a revival of decipher card game maybe with some balancing tweaks and some of the updates from the other movies.

But yeah sad day especially if FFG expects Destiny to take its place. Sorry FFG, I am not buying from the Eververse!

I would be so on board with a revision and cleanup second edition of that game in the LCG model. I looked at the LCG and it just felt like all it would do is make me miss this game even more.

I would lose my mind if a new version of the Decipher game came out. I spent way to much time playing that back in the day. I had cut back on playing a year or so before the end, local game base had kinda dried up, and a few of the new mechanics (such as the starting 10 card side decks), seemed to force play into a one dimensional. But the base mechanics for that game were amazing, and I would throw a ton of money at whoever brought it back.

*edit* Look at that box brings back a lot of memories. Its funny to me now that they advertised the Vader and Luke that you couldn't get anywhere else, given how those versions were POSes that were really hard to get on the board, and were very under powered for their cost/forfeit value.

Seriously FFG, just do it, and then shut up and take my money!

There is a virtual continuation of the game. I think you have to sleeve them with older cards and play as such.

Are you a part of this Player's committee?

Afaik swccg is on its second run of fan-made expansions. Can't say I've looked at it much, but some of the things they did way back was pretty neat.

Also, why are we not getting together to play?

Cause who’s got enough time to play everything they own?

ill bring some decks to the next Armada tourney and we can play between rounds.

Heck, maybe I'll just skip the tourney and we can play the whole time, heh.
