I was bored and noticed that the Return to the Night of the Zealot is AHC26. So...

While not particularly interesting or anything, the seven spot gap between Labyrinth of Lunacy and Return to the Night of the Zealot is the perfect size for a deluxe expansion and six Mythos packs. Shocking absolutely nobody, I'm taking this as confirmation that the next cycle is far enough along to have product codes. I'd expect a deluxe announcement closer to when Dim Carcosa comes out.

Based on when Carcosa was announced (4/17/17) and when the PtC box hit the street (9/14/17), I think the announcement for the next deluxe set is actually past due.

Based on adhering to a monthly release schedule of scenarios, New Campaign Box will ship in April, only about 3 months away.

Considering at the release of the 4th mythos pack of the Dunwich Cycle, Path to Carcosa was spoiled. Around the release of the 6th mythos pack, the new cycle was formally announced.

They announced Carcosa right after Blood on the Altar came out, which was the third mythos pack in the Dunwich campaign. So I would've been expecting an announcement for a new campaign any day now since the third mythos pack in the Carcosa campaign has been out for a few weeks now... Kind of hoping that the Return to the Night of the Zealots doesn't delay the next campaign. There was already a long wait between the last Dunwich mythos pack and the Carcosa deluxe box.

I understand. It's difficult to hypothesize what their planned announcement date would have been without the leak. But their announcements for upcoming releases have been consistently 3 months ahead otherwise, so I still expect an announcement any time now (and not concurrent with the release of Dim Carcosa).

The gap we had may be what the "standard" gap will be between campaigns (kind of a rest period for our wallets?)... there's no way to know for sure.

One plausible option is that for some reason the third cycle is delayed, which is why Return to Night of the Zealot was announced, as something of a stop gap. If they intend to start the third campaign in Q3, that's an entire quarter without Arkham sets.... into the gap leaps Return. Just a thought!

Considering LOTR went, what, 9 months? between releases without news nor updates nor stopgaps, I can't say as I fully believe FFG would do something like that.

Actually, looking back, it looks like we only went two months between the last Dunwich mythos pack and the release of Carcosa. Fingers crossed we have a similar short delay between Carcosa and the next thing!

I expected the next deluxe to be announced this week, probably today, but the Zealot announcement tempered that. It could still happen though.

Edit: to gauge it by Carcosa's announcement, it's already late; Carcosa was announced just a couple of days after the release of Blood on the Altar, the third Dunwich mythos pack.

That month was when Labyrinths of Lunacy actually came out (albeit just to GenCon), which still tells you what the creative team was doing during that month between the end of Dunwich and the start of Carcosa. I'm really hoping we aren't expected to take Return as our content for this month and get no other announcements until February...

Remember that we also have the real Labyrinths of Lunacy release hitting at some point.

• Mythos Pack #4 hits 1/25
• Mythos Pack #5 has been on the boat since 1/10, so will likely hit in late Feb.
• Labyrinths of Lunacy has been at the printer since 12/13, so will likely hit sometime in early March.
• Mythos Pack #6 has been at the printer since 1/11, so will likely hit in late March.
• Return to the Night of the Zealot has only just been announced, so it'll probably not hit until April.

If we a new cycle announcement within the next month or so, the deluxe should hit in Late April/early to mid May.

No way is that Deluxe hitting in April. At best we get mid may, possibly late or in early June.
