Flew my resistance list against a Vader sabacc soontir

My list

His list (as best I can remember)

Soontir Fel + Push the Limit + Royal Guard TIE + Targeting Computer + Autothrusters

Darth Vader + VI + Engine Upgrade + Scrambler Missiles + TIE/x1 + Advanced Targeting Computer

"Pure Sabacc" + VI + Lightweight Frame + Adaptive Ailerons

I put Poe in the corner, with crimson specialist and baby blue in the middle, he put sabacc off center slightly, and Vader and soontir facing towards Poe.

Baby blue flew fast and turned towards Vader and soontir, crimson spec following, meanwhile sabacc tried flanking and Vader and soontir both had seen TFA and TLJ and immediately went “nope, not gonna try and fight Poe” while Poe got his focus

Crimson spec dropped a lot of bombs touching her base, but only person she ever really hit with them was herself, luckily defective plating never broke

Later, soontir landed on a rock, took no damage, Poe flew up to him, rolled hit hit crit crit, soontir rolls three evades, crit is major explosion, which triggers and the card is...direct hit! Poe just one shot soontir with a single damage

Meanwhile crimson spec accidentally killed the baby blue, but made up for it by killing Vader, and at that point my opponent conceded, because the bomber was full health, Poe was down one shield, and sabacc didn’t have his ability anymore

All in all, I liked the list, and am considering taking it to regionals, Poe will most likely be target number 1 at a regionals because of harpoon boats and miranym hating black one, which is great, Poe can fly and doge like a beast while the bomber throws bomblets into the enemy and the baby blue covers Poe

My two suggestions:

1. Advanced Optics is not that useful on the Bomber. You'd be better off with another 2 point tech, or adding it to a bid.

2. I think a PS1 wookie with commandos may be better than a FAA Blue Squadron T-70. Similar offense and much more tankey. And

Fair enough, since this game, I’ve swapped optics over to the baby blue, and the reason for the baby blue is more ships for crossfire

If you are using crossfire formation, you may want to find the extra point to bump the baby blue to Jess Pava. Her ability is built for formation flying and support work.

Fair enough, I don’t get the flight assist however if I do that, And crossfire isn’t formation flying, so much as pincer maneuvers with T70s escorting the bomber

I have a similar list to yours, but I dropped Advanced Optics and Crossfire on the bomber. Gives me the points to get Jess Pava with Optics/Elite Droid/Integrated and Draw Their Fire.
Then I fly Jess and Poe together and she keeps him from getting ps0'ed. It works ok!

Personally I've been loving advanced optics on the bomber. Not so much on the Crimson Squadron pilot, because it doesn't have that much use at PS1, but on the aces its actually super useful. Frees you up for TL for more offense on range one rounds, and i have generally just found it to be useful. Just my experience though, I could be wrong

So I flew this again, exact same loadout at a small tournament and got third

first game

captain nym + bomblets + cruise missiles + extra munitions + expertise + guidance chips

rey + Finn + expertise + cruise missile + guidance chips + TFA falcon + “chopper” crew

idk what else if anything

i set the baby blue and the bomber next to each other off center a bit, nym and Rey set up in the corner, and Poe was set at an angel to flank, the baby blue got locked by both his ships, but Poe boosted and got nym’s lock off because nym would have thrown four dice cruise missiles at the blue. Nym took a beating and died to the resistance bomber’s primary, Rey killed the x-wings, losing her shields, leaving a full health bomber with deflection plating and throwing bombs vs Rey in a corner and Rey got hit by a bomblet and died the bomber taking zero damage

win: 100-64

round two

darth vader + tie/x1 + adv targeting computer + engine upgrade + prockets + VI

soontir fel + PTL + royal guard TIE + autothrusters + targeting computer

duchess + adaptive ailerons + lightweight frame + VI

bomber And baby blue set up in the center, Poe set up to joust all three of his ships

duchess takes one damage, ailerons, and sloops off the board “screw you guys, I’m going home”

Poe and Vader danced around, bringing each other to one health, the two bump, the bomber shoots at Vader and kills him (Bomber MVP, it got every kill for me this tournament) I’m left with a full health bomber vs soontir fell on opposite ends of the board, bomber is worth more points than soontir, so I slow it down and let soontir come to me, slam on the breaks and drop a bomb on my corner, soontir bumps and blows up by the bomb

bomber wins again!

i lost poe to two harpoons turn two, then the baby blue died removing a harpoon, but the bomblet always did max damage to his guys when they hit, and the bomber killed one scurrg before it blew

loss: 35-100

i broke even, it was $5 entry, and I got $5 store credit, so I got a Star Wars destiny booster cause I couldn’t afford any ships, and got a soda

the tournament was fun, even if I was the only person flying the resistance bomber, people underestimate what madness it can cause at times, especially against imperials
