Tannhauser World Question

By WillisRBC, in Genesys

Hey folks, I've been thinking about starting a Band of Brothers type game using Tannhauser as a setting. I really don't know much about the setting though, aside from the small amount of information given in the Genesys book. Can anyone point me toward any good information?

My key questions are:

1. Does the Union use occult or magic at all or are they all super science?

2. Is there any need for an "occult consultant" type character, kind of like Professor Broome?

Thanks!

Yeah, I had seen those were available. The only review on them that I've found says that they are the worst science fiction novels the reviewer has ever read, so...

Tannhauser: Operation Night Eagle Kindle Edition by Blaine Lee Pardoe seems to be the best reviewed out of the 3 novels, but it only has 2 reviews on Amazon. So I looked at the author's other books and his other books have hundreds of positive reviews. So Operation Night Eagle might be your best choice if you want to read a novel in this setting. Or wait for a sourcebook.

Blaine Lee Pardoe wrote some very solid novels for the Battletech universe. If he wrote one of the Tannhauser books, that one should be a good one.

And OP; I love your concept!

I realize this is an old thread, but thought I'd chime in. I have the Tannhauser board game with all expansions, but I don't recall any Union characters that boasted magic, let alone occult magic. However, skimming through a fan wiki I found something interesting from the artwork from the card game version. A Navajo character from the Union appears to be using some sort of spell on a fallen troop. I suspect that means there are a handful of Union troops that use magic that may be either Divine or Primal in nature.

Of all the other settings books FFG is likely to do, this is the one I can't wait for the most.

Ditto. Really hoping they put out a book for this and see them flesh out the setting some more.
