I knew they probably would, but I was hoping that they would kind of be a mix between the IA minis, and 40k minis. (not on sprues, but still more detailsed and unique than IA minis.)

Sounds about right, between squinting at the spanish build pages and sorastro's rebel vids it appears a basic humanoid is about 3 parts max. Vechiles are a little more complex

I would actually prefer this over the sprues so that you would not have to remove mold lines.

Here in Australia I contacted a flgs about Legion being available to pickup at Cancon, which is 26th to 28th this month (Jan). I was told that their distributer are expecting it to come in at the end of the month, and they will get it a few days later. So probably a week after cancon. Take it with a grain of salt though

I watched the vid from a Store in Barcelona, was on a Facebook legion page.

In fact scroll up i posted it in this thread.

My local store allowed me to preorder this weekend (they called once they opened preorders up) and told me that the distributor was expecting the game end of January / early February.

Now, I'm in a somewhat remote location, so she warned me that this was basically + or - 30 days. Still, seems like it will be hitting stores very very soon.

Some of the IA minis have pretty bad mold lines. Just because they aren't shipped on a sprue, doesn't mean they weren't made in a mold. I'm no expert on making plastic figures, but molds are probably the cheapest option for mass production.

In theory 3D printing. But that is currently more cost effective for three ups (models produced three times the size of the final model to help with planning), or one off test models as opposed to the scale of production necessary for a wargame.

Wave 3 of Armada was on the boat so long it arrived with wave 4. What ever hunk of junk they put Armada stuff in won't make the Kessel run in 13 Parsecs.
